This is a very well constructed dog backpack. It is the perfect size for the smaller breeds like I have, a Yorkiepoo, or as I like to call her, a Porkie. The mesh will allow for airflow and while I like the color scheme, it may prove to be too hot in the warmer weather. Only time will tell. There is a zippered pocket to keep food and collapsible bowls in, but no water bottle carrier. Overall I think we will enjoy using this to take our small pup to the ball park this year.

To begin, the carrier is well constructed. There is padding on the shoulders and back. There are straps to secure the pack around your chest, straps to hold water bottles and mesh so your cat/dog can see outside. There is a pocket in the back that contains a hood to place over your pet's head if needed.I tested this backpack around my home before going outside because I wanted to ensure it would work as stated. I placed my six month old, 5 lb. kitten in this carrier and he could not get into a comfortable position. This is where the design issues appear.The carrier is tall but not wide enough to allow my kitten to sit or stand comfortably. When I go walking in the neighborhood, this will present a problem after 15 minutes or more. The base of the carrier is rather narrow. There is a collar latch inside the carrier but the top of the carrier does not fully close. It's more like a flap. It doesn't secure to the front of the carrier. Your pet would be exposed to the elements without at least a minimal barrier.I'm disappointed that this carrier did not pan out. I wanted my kitten to have his own carrier just as my Maine Coon mix has his own. I ultimately gave this carrier three stars because it is well constructed and I believe it would be durable for outdoor use. However, I just could not get past the design flaws that would make it practical for me.

Our kitten's carry case was getting a bit small as our Kitten turned into a large cat. I ordered the large and I didn't think it was going to be big enough but he fits in it perfectly and seems to enjoy it. I worry about him jumping out since the top of the bag does not fully close. There is a hook for his collar, and he's a little uneasy when it comes to the outdoors beyond our house, so hopefully there is nothing to worry about. It seems like there is more of a sense of security since he is so close to me and you can wear it on your front if necessary. There are multiple hooks and features that are great additions!

This is a great carrier. I have small dogs so when we go on trips they get tired easily. I must admit that i have been needing to throw treats in the pack To make them fell comgortable. Tge material IS STURDY. BREATHEABLE. AND TOUGH

I got this for my senior cats and any future cats or small dogs that will become family members. I’m acclimating my cats to its presence now, which I expect will take about 6 months before they’ll ride in it because of how old and set in their ways they are.This backpack carrier appears to me be of a high quality. It’s comfortable, even for my petite, female frame, and my tall, slim husband finds it to be comfortable as well. The shoulder straps have an additional, horizontal strap connecting them for extra support and security. That makes this nice for wearing frontward or backward. The part of the backpack that normally rests against your back has a nice, added support material to make it more comfortable. There’s a small, zipper pouch on the front for carrying just a few small items, like a little baggie of treats and a cell phone, but it won’t hold much more than that. On the inside of the main compartment, there’s a small latch on which to hook a leash or collar and prevent escapes. On each side of the main compartment, there is a full-length zipper and two latch closures per side, so the backpack can be opened almost completely. The bag in the large size I ordered is deeper than it is wide, so it would work well for a dog who wants to stand up and have his head popping out of the top. For my somewhat small cats, there is enough space for them to sit, lie down, or stand on all fours comfortably. The bottom has a stiff material that will keep the bag from sagging and your pet from feeling like they have no solid floor.The top of the main compartment is open and does not zip closed, but there are a couple extra features up there in case you want to close it off. There’s a puffy fabric that can be folded over the top opening, but it does not provide secure containment on its own. Near the top of the bag is a very small zipper pouch containing a circular piece of tent-like fabric that is attached to the inside of the zipper pouch by a small cord. This material has elastic around its perimeter so that you can pull it over the top opening of the backpack, including that puffy lid I just mentioned, and then it has 2 latches which snap into 2 corresponding latches on the front of the backpack to secure it in place. It’s difficult to describe and a really odd choice when a simple zipper closure would have made more sense. While my cats could probably escape from it closed in this way if left alone for a while, I don’t see that being a possibility while I’m carrying them inside, especially since their complicated escape route is at the top, and they’d have to stretch upward the whole time while trying to figure it out.The color scheme is my only serious complaint. I don’t like the construction-esque black and orange I got, but I don’t like alternate red and black color scheme either. I’d love to see more colors offered that don’t clash with my outfits, because I’m a little bit vain and care about that kind of thing.

This is a great product for a quick little trip with your pet.Of note though, the top doesn't zipper shut or latch at all. It just kinda loosely flops so if you're not worried about your pet jumping out, it's great.
