Jade Yoga Voyager Yoga Mat 1.6mm

I’ve used several mats over the years that were described as travel‑friendly, but the Jade Yoga Voyager stands out. The Jade Green colour is subtle and looks great, and the mat itself is extremely compact. Because it’s only 1.6 mm thick, it folds down much smaller than any other mat I’ve owned and is very easy to pack. It’s also impressively lightweight, which makes it ideal for travelling. The grip is excellent, especially for a mat this thin. I’ve used it on carpet, vinyl flooring, and outdoors, and it consistently provides reliable traction. On harder surfaces, I sometimes add a towel under my knees for extra cushioning, but that’s expected with a mat designed for portability. I’ve also found it useful for strength training when I need extra grip under my feet. At home I keep it rolled in a mat bag, and when travelling it folds neatly and stays organised in my luggage (using a separately purchased packing cube, available from Amazon). There is a noticeable natural‑rubber scent when it’s new, but it fades over time. For me, it hasn’t been an issue. The only limitation is the length. At 6ft 1, I find it slightly short, but the portability more than makes up for it, and it’s easy enough to adjust a few poses. If you’re looking for a genuinely compact, lightweight mat with excellent grip and you’re comfortable with a thinner profile, this is a strong option for travel and everyday use.

Useful for yoga while travelling. Nice and grippy. Thin, but ok. Folds/rolls up quite compact. Natural materials I believe. We take ours (two) on holiday most times.

I hesitated between the Jade and Yogo mat but in the end this won be over because of the attached strap on the Yogo which I thought would be annoying, they fold to the same dimension anyway. Very happy with my decision, the Jade folds or rolls small and in lots of different ways so perfect for travel. It also looks nice and simple. I tested it with sweaty and not sweaty hands in downdog, crane and wheel and it's way more grippy than my current mat, love it! I'll definitely bring it as an 'over mat in the studios' as it doesn't bunch up like my current towel. Sure it's thin but with a separate kneeling pad it'll be just fine. Only warning is that it picks up dog hairs, that's the flip side of the super grip! And if I'm really fussy I wish it came with a little pouch but as it's a low price I'll just buy a cotton tote.

Very light (lighter than Menduka superlite) thinks would be great for travel. Good grip do not like the smell of the rubber, but I received the mattress only yesterday and it may be that in time the smell will disappear.

The perfect travel yoga mat. I don't leave a lot of reviews but I noticed this only has 3/5 at the time of writing which is a really unfair score for what is an excellent mat. Pros - It's really thin - a mat called the 'Voyager' is obviously for travelling. For travel a thin mat that can be rolled or folded up (don't leave it folded when not travelling as it is better to leave it rolled) is exactly what you need. - Even though it's thin it still performs really well - grippy, and for how thin/light it is, it's very stable. Obviously it doesn't perform as well as a full at home mat. - Natural - it's made from natural rubber - this smells a little bit of rubber. It does not smell bad. It smells of rubber. If you don't like the smell of rubber don't buy this. Not sure how people expect a mat made of rubber not to smell of rubber?! - Jade are a super eco friendly ethical company - just do a google search for more info. Cons - It is not as good as my Jade Harmony mat. But it was never expected to be. In summary - if you want a mat that is perfect for travel, this is it!

After reading the other reviews on here I thought well it is a mat topper so thought i’d give it a go anyway as love my full size jade yoga mat but carrying it around is a ball ache. Ok pros... it’s lightweight and folds up really small. It’s open cell rubber so if you get sweaty hands like me, makes down dog much easier Cons, it’s just too thin. It bunches up on top of another mat. I think if you’re really really good at yoga (talking to you astanga masters) it might be better but if like me you don’t land perfect it makes for a really annoying practice. I’ve resorted to bringing my full size mat again with me and this just didn’t work for me unfortunately

It's a great mat, coolest one I've seen in 3 months of going around London studios. I have an old camping mat at home, this goes on top. For class goes on top of the studio mats. For travelling it will go in the suitcase. It suits what I need. Before you buy it only to complain and write negative reviews just think and consider if this is what you need. If it isn't, buy another one. Yes, of course it's thin, it's a travel mat, it folds into a little square. Yes, of course it smells of rubber, it's made of rubber. The smell is not at all unbearable by the way, as some suggested, it just smells like something new... It's really grippy and has a nice feel on the hands and bare feet. And they planted a tree for my mat. I'm happy with my choice.

Had it for more than 2 years, I practice daily (Mysore style). Great grip, developed a small hole at the feet but the textile is still holding together the mat despite the rubber being gone. I’ve travelled several times with it - it’s light and it folds very easily in any way you want. Excellent and very safe practice even when I place a thin cotton mat/towel to get a bit less grip for the finishing postures - at the beginning it used to pull my hair when doing chakrasana and urdva dhanurasana. Doesn’t stink and never did, it just had a bit of a smell when I opened it that went away after a couple of days. Love the concept of planting trees when you buy it. I need a new mat and the only reason why I’m thinking of buying from another brand is to compare performances.

Loved the feel but it was shorter than the regular studio mat

Love the feel of this mat. You don't slip at all, lot of grip. Material feels nice and very good quality. It is really thin of course, but also makes it very compact and quite lightweight.

The mat is to thin if your on a hard floor and the rubber smell last for weeks, I had to wash it and leave it outside so it didn’t stink up the house.

薄くて軽く、それでいてしっかりグリップしてくれる優れものです。 薄いので板つき感はありますし、ゴムの匂いはしますが、この軽さとグリップ力を考えたらマイナス点は帳消しです。 グリップ力はマンドゥカのブラックマットよりもあるかもしれません。 丸めたら直径6センチくらいになるくらい、薄いです。これなら旅行先でも練習ができます！ 買ってよかったです！

Lange habe ich nach einer Matte gesucht, auf der ich mit schwitzenden Händen nicht rutsche! Mit der Jade Voyager habe ich die passende Matte gefunden. Auch die Bodenhaftung sogar auf Teppich ist sehr gut, obwohl diese Matte sehr dünn und leicht ist. Ich habe mich zunächst für die Reisematte entschieden, da ich kurz vor dem Urlaub stehe und auch sonst mind. einmal pro Woche auswärts Yoga mache. Die Voyager ist eine wunderbare Reisematte, da man sie nicht nur rollen, sondern auch falten kann und sie sehr leicht ist. Ob die Knicke bleiben, kann ich jetzt noch nicht beurteilen.. Bei ein Körpergröße von 1,60m ist mir die Länge ausreichend. Für größere Menschen ist sie eventuell zu kurz. Sie riecht nach Kautschuk, was mich jetzt nicht sehr stört. Sicher wird der Geruch weniger mit der Zeit. Ich überlege, für zu Hause mir noch eine etwas dickere Matte von Jade zuzulegen, bin aber noch unschlüssig, ob es da die xxl mit 5mm werden soll. Mit der Voyager bin ich jedenfalls rundum zufrieden und empfehle sie uneingeschränkt gerne weiter!
