A lovely book.
Jay Gill has a unique and lovely flow to his writing, and although this is part of a series, all can be read as a standalone.I love these books they remind me of when I first became interested in murder and mystery, reading Agatha Christie, Miss Marple and Hercules Poirot and Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes. This book I feel is the best one yet, with great characters and a wonderful story line and plot. The descriptive side is just perfect and the parts to do with Italy, brought back wonderful memories. This is one of those books, you can't put down, I just love the way Fleming investigates and solves the crimes.I was sure this time I would outwit Fleming and did guess part but not quite right. As always you haven't a clue until the final unveiling.A totally wonderful read, roll on the next one.

Another brilliant book
I have read every book by this masterful writer. This series involves private detective Henry Fleming and set in the 1920s This particular story takes place in Venice. The way Jay Gill describes the surroundings and the characters you feel you are really there. His style of writing is so exceptional its as if it was written at that time. Definitely on a par with Agatha Christie.

Another one…
…that Kindle inveigled me into starting in the middle of the series because I follow the author! I really should check first! Golden Age - check. Private Investigator - check (although male makes a nice change…) This seems to be stand alone, set in Italy (and the descriptions were good enough to have me browsing holidays in Venice) and enjoyable. Now to go back to the start…

A deadly venetian affair
A Deadly venetian affair is a brilliantly written book by one very talented Author. It kept me guessing right up to the Last page and no I never guess who did it that's pure genius on the Author's part. I Absolutely loved this book and even recommended these books to my mum who also loves them. I would definitely recommend to other avid readers like me who like the 1920s.

Very enjoyable
A deadly Venetian affair reads like it was written by Dame Agatha herself.I can give it no better accolade than that. The best of the series so far.
