Excellent dye- highly pigmented
Great dye- highly pigmented so nice strong colours. I have dark hair with some greys and tend to use Atlantic blue which initially will colour all my hair blue - my dark areas only reflect blue in the light but my greys are quite bright. I usually find that that the colour will gently fade and after around 6 washes my darker hair only holds a faint blue but my greys hold it for months! - as I am an older woman now I feel this is perfect for me and I don’t have to worry about lightening my hair with bleach.I frequently get complements on my colour but really I just bung it on (with gloves) and when I can be bothered I reapply. When using just make sure you apply a thick cream or Vaseline around your entire hairline and ears to prevent the colour from dying your skin as it is very hard to remove without scrubbing! I then dip a fine comb into the pot to scoop up approx dessert spoon of dye and then apply to separated section of hair by using my comb like a knife to spread it over the surface - I then will comb the section out repeatedly from root to tip to ensure even coverage. I have a short Bob so I find this quite easy but if you can get someone to help even better! I then leave for around 30mins before washing out, rinsing thoroughly just with water until it runs almost clear and then using a small amount of shampoo to remove the last of the dye. I then will sometimes use a conditioner but often not as I find that my hair tends to feel quite soft after dyeing. I will say that for a few nights you should not have a white pillowcase as the colour will transfer!(easily comes out in the wash) and also that your shower/bath will be blue too- again comes off when you clean hard! Also recommend laying down an old towel/sheet/newspaper on the floor to protect your floor from drips. Hair dye likes to try and get everywhere!

Great
I have tried a number of “bright” semi permanent colouring brands and La Riche Directions seems to be the best. Although results/durability tend to vary by shade, the turquoise feels like one of the best. I have dark brown hair and bleach the ends, so I apply it on light brown (top end) to light blonde (tips) hair. Like with other non-ammonia, non-permanent dyes, you have to leave it on a lot longer than it says (unless you have very light coloured hair), so I’d recommend putting it on for at least a couple of hours. It rinses out quite clear compared to the magenta version of the same brand, which makes a mess in your bath, but the colour lasts quite a while. It loses intensity after 4-5 washes, but the effect is quite nice as it ends up being a light green-ish shade. This is the process I follow: - Wash hair (ideally with a non-silicone shampoo) and do not apply any conditioner, serum or product. You can do this the day before. - On fully dry hair, apply colour with a brush (your fingers are fine too, but you’ll probably need a comb to make sure your hair is well saturated) - Cover the streaks with tinfoil or the whole head with a shower-cap - Wait for at least 2 hours if you want an intense, long lasting effect - Rinse until water runs clear - Condition and style as usual I find it doesn’t damage my hair, and the result is great until you’ve washed it a few times. The only downside is the size/shape of the pots, as they’re too narrow for a dying brush so you have to decant it into a bowl. This is only a minor inconvenience, though. Another upside is that, like with most hair colourants of this type, you can save whatever you don’t use, so you don’t waste any.

Great and easy to use
Great colour, mixed this with the violet and was so amazing. Made my hair so soft due to the moisturizer in there and always a great colour.

Hoping for a better result next time
This dye is ok. It turned out a lovely shade, although it didn't dye my roots, they weren't previously bleached but it also didn't take to my greys. It only lasted for 3 washes, then turned bright blue. Which to be fair, I really like lol I have bought more because I'm going to bleach the whole of my hair and try again, fingers crossed for me, as I really did love the colour.

Poppy Red- Lovely deep colour that doesn't fade easily
I used to use Directions when I was a teenager and (many years) later decided to go back to my fun, bright hair. I thought dyes would have came on a lot by now, so tried a variety of different brands... and in the end have came back to the old reliable Directions pots. They haven't changed much, and still give me great, vibrant colour. I would say that these are genuine and are the same as those that I used to buy in an alternative clothing shop. How long the 4 pots last varies from person to person- I have quite long hair, and 2 pots is plenty for a full application- i buy a 4 pack and this usually lasts me 6 weeks (I top up at about 3 weeks, but this is optional, and is only because I like to keep the vibrant red shade and I do wash my hair quite often) So I tend to buy a new pack every 6 weeks or so. Still a bargain at this price compared with other dyes I was using. I use the poppy red on top of bleached blonde (no conditioner in between) and I love the deep colour that it turns out. It also fades to a nice pink as opposed to orange shades that are so common with red colourings. I would say that using this on natural hair colour probably won't work simply because it isn't porous. Any time I do a top up dye, I notice that the colour washes off of my natural root straight away, no matter how long it has been in for. As this is basically just a pigmented conditioner you can leave it in as long as you like. I usually apply mine and wrap in clingfilm and leave it on for hours while I'm cleaning. I usually also condition my hair after dying because it can still feel brittle due to the bleach. The colour is not colourfast- but anyone using semi permanent dye should know this already. It runs all over your shower/ grouting/ towels/ white t-shirts and bedding. Eventually it stops transferring onto the bedding, but this is usually when you are due a top up. (I find it easiest to buy all black bedding) Don't worry though- it all comes out in the wash- this is a particular relief when you tell hotel staff when you are checking out... *Tips* - Dye on top of a hard/ tiled floor- it can splash/ drop off. - The colour lasts with care- try not to wash as often (dry shampoo is your friend) and use cooler water when washing. - - - Also use shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair to prolong the results. - Spray bleach will clear this from the grouting on the shower too.

Cheap, effective and pretty
a really nice beautiful colour, I'd personally say when you lighten it (with conditioner) it comes out more of a blue purple if anything but it's perfect since I had a pink base! would 100% recommend :)

Don't buy
Awful I left this dye on my gray/white hair for an hour. Even though it was an grey tone, I expected my white hairs to at least pick up some color. But nothing at all. There was absolutely no change and it had no effect whatsoever. Honestly, it was really useless.

Works well but has drawbacks
Before you buy this look at the colours on the La Riche website. Luckily I found the colour I wanted on there before buying because this is a lot more green toned than in the picture. I love the colour and it has lasted about a month although it has significantly faded from the first application. The fading happened after about two weeks. The colour definitely took better to the bleached parts of my hair but it has now faded to a more greenish colour so be prepared to refresh the colour if you want to avoid that. Another point to consider is that application is messy especially if you have long hair. My skin was stained in places even though I used Vaseline around my hairline. My bath was stained a bit too but it comes off surfaces if you use nail varnish remover. Also for the first few washes the dye that washed out turned the water completely blue so be prepared for it to look like you killed a smurf in your bathroom. After you rinse it out but before the first proper wash the colour can transfer to clothes and sheets so don’t wear any light clothing or wash it properly with shampoo immediately after you have rinsed the dye out. Also after that it can still transfer a little when your hair is wet. The consistency is perfect and it is pretty easy to get an even colour. The blue worked on my long, medium-brown hair and bleached ends but the colour has faded to a very dark brown, almost black (which I actually quite like). I have waist length hair and I only needed two pots but my hair is fine so you may need more if you have thick hair. All in all I recommend if you want a cheap semi-permanent dye that works on darker hair and has loads of fun colours. Just be prepared to deal with the mess. It should be fine as long as you’re careful.

super joli

Me encanta!
