This is a lightweight and versatile steam cleaner that has several major plus points over the one it replaced (much older and by a different manufacturer): the cleaning pad with the velcro adheres much better to the base when using on hard floors; the head moves across the floor more freely; and the main one is that the tank is considerably larger, so I can do a pretty large area without needing to refill. The actual job of cleaning that it does is better too, and I like the different steam settings for different applications. I haven't used the detachable element yet, but it seems to detach easily enough, and comes with a good variety of attachments. I also like the cord holder, my old one didn't have that feature and it really helps with keeping the cord away from the operation of the cleaner. Less good points: there's no part of the mop head that can get into corners particularly well; and assembly is a bit less than counterintuitive (why, when everything else seems to slot together, is there a screw needed to attach the mop head? And I had to read the entire instruction book to identify what that pin is for!) Added points for the use of mostly cardboard in the packaging, not much plastic waste generated.

My review on this mop is wow amazing I have had other steam mops in the past and binned them . But this one is like the Rolls-Royce of steam mops ..... my brother inlaw who has severe autism on different levles hadn't cleaned his kitchen for 28yrs . So you can imagine the state of the kitchen . When I seen the state it was in i thought oh noooo it's going to kill me trying to get all the grease and dirt off the units . As I have a muscle condition that causes chronic weakness . So I started to use this steam mop that detaches into a hand held steamer with a jet nozzle and a small soft bristled screw on brush .... using this cut through it like a hot knife through butter can't praise this machine enough . It does generate a lot of steam so I would suggest putting a cloth on the floor when doing the kitchen units just to soak up the water . "Not much " but just to make sure you don't soak the flooring etc I always read reviews before I buy anything now , as I have wasted so much money on gadgits etc so honest reviews are important . The mop has 3 different steam levles it takes 30 seconds to start when you switch it on . The head isn't flimsy like most other mops it's tough but light . All the tools are easy to put together for doing windows steaming your fabrics steaming your mattress etc I cleaned his bath and wow it was amazing ! I scrubbed this bath before the mop was delivered and I thought it was clean . No it wasn't, the steam mop with the soft screw on brush got it spotless !! I have even cleaned all the white double glazed window frames which come up like they where new !! 28 yrs of not being cleaned his home is now so clean you could eat yout dinner off it lol The pads are Velcro which are amazing too , they stay in place !! The other older steam mops, you had to put the whole thing on and pull the cord to Sucure it . The Micro fiber pad is thick and holds a lot of water off the steam . So you don't get smears everywhere, the older steam mops would be soaked and never able to glide across the floors without scrunching up and and tightening and needing to replace it after every room . This one just sticks on and just glides across the room no problems . .. The only thing I can say bad about this steam mop is .... you only get ONE Micro fibre pad . And I am finding it hard to find the replacement soft bristled screw on brush You have to buy a jet nozzle and hard wired bristle brush To be able to get the soft bristle brush . They ware out quickly And if you want more pads it's quite expensive for a pack of 3 But would be worth your while because these wash up amazing ! The Velcro still works after a lot of use so it stays in place . One pad isn't enough for the price you pay for the actual steam mop as you need to use a separate one for your bathroom and kitchen . ...my review is 10 out of 10 and worth every penny . My other advice would be don't buy any compatible replacement brushes or pads as I made a mistake thinking these would be ok . They aren't they don't fit .i have asked questions on here and people just say yes I don't no why they do that but Just buy the ones for that model . Or you'll be wasting more money . So in the long run it's worth paying extra for the pads That are for that model . Only If you have any questions just ask me and I'll give you the correct Honest answer . :)

This steam mop came well packaged with everything I required inside the box for cleaning. The steam mop was pretty easy to assemble, however you need to screw on the actual mop head to the unit to use mop itself for any floor use, so this could be tricky for anyone with arthritis screwing this head on and off to be able to do certain cleaning tasks. Because you have to keep taking it off to use this as a hand held then screw it back on to do the floor. The water tank comes off easily for you to fill and the handle will fold down for easy storage. The pads have velcro on them and stick well to the base head and don't come off when in use. The mop itself has three heat settings and heats up within seconds. However please read the instructions and make sure you use the correct heat settings for carpets especially cushion flooring - lino because the unit gets extremely hot and may shrink or melt your flooring. The mob however used correctly works extremely well and is sturdy, versatile plus easy to manover and get into corners it's also light weight so a big bonus and the cord is a good length and the steam production is excellent. This mop did not leave pools of water over the floor but with all steam mops you have to wait for five minutes after you have finished, for the floor surface to fully dry off and the steam in the room to disappear. Plus a steam mop doesn't need chemicals so is safe for pets and children. The only things I found a disadvantage and could be costly is you have to change and buy filters for lime scale build up after so many uses, with this model and you most definitely will need extra pads and filters in time, you also will have to purchase these from the main product developer or possibly where you purchased the mop from as you can't get cheaper duplicate filters and identical pads and these sets range from £19.99 to £29.99. So if you use the mop very often it may not be that cost effective and taking on and off the head could be annoying. With the older model -H2O X5 steam mop you don't need filters and can buy duplicate pads from various places online. So this older unit will save you money if you obviously keep up with maintenance. This H20 HD model is totally different so if you think it's similar to the H20 x5 it's actually not. However it seems pretty good so far and has functioned well. But I actually think I prefer the older model due to the cost of replacing the filters and been unable to get cheaper microfibre pads and screwing on and off the main mop head as it's annoying. However this is the only reason I have given this H20 HD 4 stars. I can't say yet if it's value for money because i have not used it that long and have already purched a new filter and microfiber mop pads because I only got one mop head in the pack and one filter with the pack I chose to purchase. Plus my old H20 x5 lasted over four years. I hope this review helps

This is the best steam mop I have ever owned, and the most expensive, but it is truly worth the price. I had previously owned the H5 and that eventually stopped functioning, I think, due to calcification in the pipes and heater elements. A common fault. The HD model gets round this issue by having replaceable calcium filters, a sacrificial part that you can easily swap out yourself. They come in packs of two and it’s recommended that you swap them out every 3 months, and run it through with the descaling solution. So there are running costs to consider, but it will make your mop last longer and it’s cheaper than replacing it or paying for it to be serviced or repaired. The mop itself is great, effectively two mops in one. You have an upright floor mop and a detachable hand steamer too. The old floor steam head from the H5 will fit directly into the handheld, but not the upright handle, so it’s worth keeping all of your old attachments if you are replacing or upgrading from the H5. It’s easy to refill with very little down time. Has three ‘Simon says’ style mode buttons, and the upright handle is hinged so it can be stored more conveniently. It’s not too heavy, and is comfortable to use for prolonged periods. It comes with every attachment you can think of, and some that I have yet to decipher. It just works, and that is exactly what you want.

Easy to us, good price light and stores away well

This is my first experience with steam cleaners/mops and I'm very pleasantly surprised by the power and ease of use of this thing. Before purchasing, I did the usual homework watching the Glossy Infomercials and then the "Real Use" videos. They left me slightly confused and unconvinced to be honest. The infomercials showed exaggerated dirt being whisked away in a flash, while the others showed people with water everywhere taking 10 mins to clean a 4 inch strip of grubby bath seal. Having tried the thing.... neither are true. SO....does it actually work ? A RESOUNDING YES ! As a floor cleaner, it is GOOD....really GOOD, but whether it's carpet or wooden floors, you have to vacuum FIRST. From what I can see, a lot of people expect it to somehow suck up the dirt and water - BUT it doesn't claim to do that. What it does, and does really well, is RELEASE dirt and grease quickly and easily, so regardless of the tool you choose for the job the dirt/water either needs to get soaked up by the attached cloth/pad when floor cleaning, or you need to have a seperate absorbent (microfiber) cloth at hand if you are using any of the nozzle attachments. Works best if you run the nozzle/brush along releasing dirt and water, then mop it with a cloth as you go - EASY Even on carpet I was surprised at how much hidden dirt ended up on the pad and my carpets seem to have a new lease of life afterwards. The pile/loft becomes springy again even in heavy traffic areas. Same with kitchen flooring, quick easy, and it leaves a nice shine with little effort. Wooden floors will be ""wet" initially but dry out within a few minutes. Tackling shower/toilet - means using the concentration nozzle. This means VERY CONCENTRATED STEAM. It also means opening the windows if you don't want to end up in your own steam room. Within 2 mins I couldn't see what I was trying to clean (I wear glasses !!! ) but it did an embarrassingly good job of releasing all kinds of stuff, from all kinds of places. Haven't tried the window cleaning thingy yet but see no reason why it won't work as good as the rest. It also doubles as a wallpaper steamer by the way. OVERALL Well made machine, with lots of power which has already changed the way my house gets cleaned and sanitised. BTW you'll need lots of extra pads !!!

Best buy ever! Does what it says on the tin.Easy to assemble and use.All parts necessary to keepn your home as clean as you want.My first one lasted 7yrs.Replacrment parts also afffordable at a reasonable price too.
