Q: My desk is a motorized standing desk. 176lb. Legs 26in the glass will have to sit on the glass. Anyone doing this? Is it advisable?

I'm using my glass mat on fairly thick carpet, so I chose the 1/4" thick for better stability. This mat has beveled edges which makes it easier to roll the casters back onto the mat if the chair slips off.

Q: Will this slide around on carpet or rug? I have a similar glass mat & I have to reposition it nearly ten times a day.

I have had this for several months. It butts up against my desk opening. I have not had any movement of it. It is exactly where I placed it when I bought it. The carpet is a low cut carpet. I'm not sure how it would do on a high shag carpet. I would add a pic, but I don't see anywhere on this page to do so.

Q: will this mat slide around on laminate floors?

No, the glass mat does not slip and slide. However, I guess it would depend on the type of floor. I have very smooth wood floors, not laminate, but they would have comparable surfaces.
