An accurate review... Edited 6/11/20
I was brought up in a house where the heating was wall-mounted fan heaters & I've had one wherever I've lived since, so I'm perfectly familiar with them and, hopefully, can put to rest a few of the odder things said in some of these reviews. I can't comment on the longevity of this particular model - it only arrived today! However, it is a replacement for a cosmetically similar (and probably internally similar, since there's only so many ways you can build a fan heater) De Longhi model that I bought back in the winter of 2007, which has only now become unusable. Therefore, unless De Longhi build quality has mysteriously declined, I have no reason to suspect that it won't last through many years of regular service. Are they noisy? No, not really. Inevitably, the presence of a fan means that fan heaters are not silent as radiators are. This unit (yes, I have used it already) is a little noisier than the one it replaces, but it's nothing that you'd need to e.g. turn up a TV / radio / hi-fi because of.The "top" review showing as I write this is a 1* one that talks about the heater "burning out" but then glowing orange & being a fire risk. The reviewer seems somewhat confused. In the first place, apart from the thermostat, which will automatically switch the unit off & on to keep a room at the warmth you want once you've set it, any properly made fan heater will have a thermal cut-out to prevent the element from seriously overheating. And this is a properly made heater. There is no fire risk unless you are stupid enough to use it where water might get into it, place it too close to anything flammable, etc. The worst you will suffer is if a dust smut is sucked into the unit & sticks to the element, rather than blowing through. At which point, you might get a brief orange spark & a pong as said smut burns off! There are really only two ways a fan heater can fail. One is that something internal does genuinely "burn out" or blow - in other words, the heating element stops working. What obviously happened in Mr 1*'s instance is the other, more common, cause - mechanical failure. Usually, that means the fan motor (about the only other moving part in the unit is the On/Off control). This is what has done for my old De Longhi - the fan still runs, but it makes a hell of a racket & it's running too slowly, so the element overheats. Unfortunately, De Longhi use some peculiar star-shaped screw-heads on their products (this model too, alas), so my handyman neighbour couldn't open it to attempt to repair it, hence me buying this.Is it expensive to run? Again, by its very nature, a fan heater, with both heating element & fan motor, is more expensive per minute to run than, say, an oil-filled radiator. But then it's active, not passive, heating and, as mentioned has a thermostat. "How much does it cost to run?" is like asking how long a piece of string is - it very much depends on how much you use it & what you consider to be "warm". Suffice it to say that you will run it for less time than passive radiant heaters, so it probably costs no more overall. The beauty of a fan heater, though, is that it takes the chill off very quickly, whether that is you coming in from the cold, or a cold room. Obviously it will take longer to heat a larger room, but a 3Kw fan heater is plenty powerful enough to turn a chilly room tolerable in a fairly short time, if "warm" takes a bit longer. And that, I think, covers everything important. I've only had good experiences with previous De Longhi heaters, so I've no worries about the likely longevity of this model. It's a light, compact powerful fan heater at a decent price. And if it lasts only half the 12 years of the previous model, it'll have been more than worth the price I paid!{Edit: 6/11/20} Alas, I wrote too soon! The heater failed after a mere 10 months. But that's within warranty, so I phoned up De Longhi's customer services... who were everything that you would wish. They've despatched a replacement to me today, since the heater was within warranty. It's a perfectly decent heater, and if this particular unit failed, it's the first one that's failed this early (5 & 12 years for the others I've owned). If I take one star off for the early kaputness, I add it back on again for the excellent customer service, so still 5*!

Efficient and sturdy.
This gives out a really good level of heat. Ideal for small to medium sized areas. A bit noisy, but that's because of the very effective fan that really packs a punch. Nice quality, well made. Just keep an eye on the ol' electric meter though, it's not cheap to run, but then nothing is nowadays what with the energy prices the way they are.

Worth the money
Bought it as a replacement for an older fan heater. After using it for a while there obviously both positives and negatives regarding this product. First of all, the warmth and heat that this thing produces is incredible it really does warm an area up quite well and efficiently too doing it quickly, the price is quite good when you compare it against what you are buying. As well as that, the cool air feature is also a win win when you need to cool down quickly. The only downside I can really think of the noise that it produces when it is up and running. It is quite noisy, it’s not too loud or too quiet, but it is noticeable, other than I can’t think of anything else wrong with and I really would rate it to a friend or a family member who may need a fan heater.

A bit loud, but very effective
This fan is quite loud, but it does have a very effective fan that moves a large volume of air. It is therefore able to warm a room quickly. I have had quieter fans in the past but they have struggled to deliver the heat they can generate due to slow or poorly designed fans.I use this for cold days when the central heating has not been started up and it is more that capable of keeping a 18 foot by 12 foot room excessively hot if you let it. I have it connected to a wireless thermostat plug device that switches it on if the temperature drops, and after many hours of running it is going fine.

Not built to last, and noisy.
I’ve had 2 of these now and won’t be buying a third. Both lasted less than 2 years before the fan stopped spinning causing it to overheat. The heat output is good but is also noisy. But I cannot recommend due to reliability.

Excellent value for money
The De'Longhi HTF3033 is a 3 kW fan heater that plugs-in to the domestic electricity supply by means of a 3-pin plug on a long supply cord. This heater has a rotary selector switch that enables you to choose 3 kW, 1 kW heating or cold-blow. There is a similar rotary switch that acts as a thermostat: you can use it to set the ambient temperature at which the heater switches off. (You do need to be aware that, when the box is first opened, the thermostat is turned-down to its lowest setting, so when you first switch-on the heater, nothing happens! You need to turn-up the thermostat to get the heater to start working.)The heater is a small, lightweight device that is attractively designed. It looks good in both a living room and a workaday environment, and is sturdily built. It can be used on the floor or on a table top.I have bought two of these heaters and I thoroughly recommend this model.

Good value for money.
Excellent quick warm-up. Said to be noisy, but I'm slightly deaf! I've not noticed a higher noise level than other models of fan heater. Will be reasonably economic if thermostat is set to lowest comfortable heating level. Probably the best fan heater on the market. Original HFT 3033 has worked for about 10 years without any problem (500 + hours). This is a second purchase.

Warm but noisy
This is a really strong fan heater pumping out a lot of heat and warms up a room very quickly. For the money it is really good value. But there are two things you should consider. The first is that it is very noisy; if the heater is on whilst we have the TV on we normally have to switch on the subtitles on the TV because we can no longer hear the television very clearly. The second thing is that unless you get the balance EXACTLY right between the heat level, strength of output etc. the thermostat kicks in and turns the heater off constantly. If you just want a steady, gentle flow of continual heat, it's quite hard to find the balanced settings to get that. Overall it's good though and has been a real boon in the cold weather over the winter.

Also steckerwechsel ...Ansonsten danke für diesen robusten Artikel

Item received
I have received the item on 10 of Febr. although it said i can receive it till 14 Febr.. In short it took 4-5 days to arrive from germany to Holland. The only disadvantage why i give 4 stars is because the product comes with 1 year warranty instead of 2 years as how much they give in UK. And The plug is UK not Europe it would have been great if amazon would suggest to buy such adaptor when purchasing such item.
