Wish I knew about this sooner
Works really well on my poor pups hot spots. I slather this on if he has any more โrawโ spots and then try to cover with a wrap or shirt and by the next day the skin is mostly healed. He also has super sensitive skin and handles this well, and more importantly, it seems to calm him when itโs applied.

Helps calm hot spots without a fight
We picked up Forticept Blue Butter for a dog hot spot that kept getting licked. The 4 oz tub is easy to dab on and it stays put better than watery sprays weโve tried. It didnโt magically heal overnight, but the irritated patch looked calmer after a couple days of consistent use and he complained less about us touching it. **Pros:** Thick enough to stick, small tub lasts, simple to apply **Cons:** Smell is medicated โ not terrible, just noticeable up close

It works but...
My usual hot spray/wound, which was organc but for a molecule used by the military in the field, is no longer being made so I was looking for a new one. That first spray set the bar high as it healed wounds & gashes literally overnight and improved hot spots overnight and cleared them completely by day three. Reviews were good on this gel so I figured this was worth a go. I applied the gel last night to my dog's tail and by this AM, the wound he created was no longer that sore pink color and wet, but rather it was dry and scabbing over. I was impressed. It is not quite as healed as it would have been with my original product but the military set the bar high on wound healing. My dog won't let me take pictures, but the difference just overnight was pretty good. Had I not had my previous product, my mind would have been blown at the improvement. The smell is a bit minty but that's perfect because my dog doesn't like it and leaves it alone. I'm not sure why people are complaining about it, unless sensitive to mint, of course. It's light, not over powering. I can only really smell it when I'm holding the container. Once my pup walks away (because he's mad at me for messing with his tail), I can no longer smell it. One regret is not reading the ingredients. I was excited about the paw picture so great marketing there. I just forgot to read the back of the label. Over half the ingredients could be replaced with more organic options or eliminated altogether. Why is blue dye neccesary? I also wish it didn't have polysorbate 80. It's inflammatory, which is exactly what you don't want for wounds. Petrolatum is a carcinogenic. Phenoxyethanol can affect the nervous system. Benzethonium chloride can cause dermatitis with prolonged contact. There are more, but you get the idea. Yes, I know they are used in cosmetics and lotions but it doesn't make it right. My other regret is not knowing the gel and the spray is sold as a combo kit because I bought both and buying the set would have saved me $10 (25% more money spent). Overall, this product is good replacement for my old one as far as wound healing goes, but I'm going to continue looking for a more organic wound treatment because these chemicals are unacceptable for use. YMMV.

Helped heal my cat's sore skin. Doesn't sting or stink.
This gel really helped to heal some very sore spots on my cat. She had an allergic reaction to something and would bite and scratch several spots near her tail until they bled. This gel seemed to give her instant relief. She even purrs when I rub the cream into the raw-looking areas. It has a slight, chemical smell, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all, and she doesn't try to lick it off. Two of three really raw spots are 90% healed (after months of trying everything). The remaining spot looks better every day. Very happy with this.

Its ok product, but no, it is not magic!
there was a slight improvement, but it did not solve the skin rash issue. We had to take it to a vet, gave them steroids and anti-allergy medicine. Bought some pet suits here on Amazon and have the cat wear it at night.
