Carter and Son 3/4 Inch Skew Chisel, Lathe Wood Turning Tool, M42 Cobalt HSS 68 HRC Aircraft Grade Solid Aluminum Handle S34-12

We have been making pens lately and he needed something smaller and this does the job. As with any wood turning tool - he had to sharpen it to the familiar shape and grind he prefers. But I think they come already sharpened so to a new turner with no expectations it should be fine.It is well made. I have no complaints yet on the material but we use it to make pens. I do know it did a great job on the deer antler pen we made over the weekend. But, it dulled it very fast. This was our first go with a deer antler so it might dull any tool.I personally do not turn very much but I can and I found it easy to use and it fit my hands well but it was a little heavy for me. But, it was fine for him and I have my own tools, lol. Over all, I liked it.

This is absolutely the best chisel I've ever seen. The aluminum handle is artful tooling, and the chisel itself is razor sharp. Can't wait to use it!

This is a nice, solid tool for turning and gets quite sharp.

For scale I've included my Reate Horizon D Ti, that and to give some context into how much a quality cutting tool means to me. I won't bore you with all my gushing over this chisel, I'm simply going to tell you that it's money well spent on a premium quality tool that will last you a lifetime. As for Carter and Son... *slow clap*... Bravo!
