Q: Can this do other hard stuff like cloves

I don't think it could. The centre section has claws designed to grip a nutmeg and I don't think they would manage cloves -- it gets a bit difficult anyway, when the nutmeg is reduced to a sliver. And I don't think you could load a bundle of cloves, because they'd slip about. Sorry!

Q: Does this grind into a fine powder

I find it grinds to lovely tiny bits or flakes - perfect for baking or sprinkling in a drink.

Q: What spices other than nutmeg will this grind? Does it work for seeds like coriander as well as small seeds like cumin, caraway and fennel?

I used this mill only for nutmeg. I don’t think you will be able to use it for spices as at the bottom of the mill are 4 slits/opening where tiny slivers of nutmeg come out. Slivers are 1/2 size of cumin seed.

Q: Will this grind almonds, macadamia nuts etc?

I don't believe so: you put a nutmeg into the central container (in the lower half of the tube you can see in the picture), the spring holds it and you turn to grind. It's quite difficult even to get a nutmeg in, sometimes. It's easy enough to buy ready-ground almonds but perhaps you want to do it yourself so that you know the powder is fresh -- a coffee-grinder might do it?
