Faber-Castell F138381 E-Motion Pearwood and Chrome Twist Pencil - Dark Brown

I once used this to sketch a rough plan of my house for an architect I had lunch with (at school). I had no idea what it was, but I loved it. After two years I found it online, and immediately bought it.Its a weird one. The thick line is a real feature - not a negative - but prohibits it for most use. But it's a joy to use when you can, and the line is so smooth that you will never want to use a pen again.The wood is lovely. I sanded mine down with some 600 grit paper, removing the logo and bringing out the grain, oiled it with some natural beeswax and now have a far truer, purer product. Absolutely not a necessary part of owning this, but I prefer it.The chrome is odd. I feel they've made it work at this price point, but steel or silver might have been a pricier if prettier option.Negatives: the clip ever so slightly pushes the end cap up when used. You might not even notice it, but there it is. In addition, the thickness (although having a lovely chunky feel to it) makes this unsuitable for any kind of pen socket (in a bag or whatnot).In the end, I don't carry it with me. It was a nostalgia purchase, and it functions somewhat as a luxury item. However, the finish (i.e. chrome) means it falls short of a real, pride of place luxury item for your desk. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend it.

Absolutely love my new pencil. Great to use and has good weight for writing. I have been searching for an efficient and attractive pencil for an age and have at last found it. Everyone who sees it and comments how stylish in appearance and great it is to write with. Wouldn't be without it.

It's a great pencil to use, really well balanced and pleasant to hold.I removed one star because it does not use standard leads. It uses 1.4 mm leads that make obviously the writing bold and that's not great. I personally prefer sub millimetre leads.This said it's a great pencil.

Great piece of kit love the way it writes. This product will not be for everyone but for me the quaility of the pencil shines through and is exactly what i expected and wanted.
