Some folks are saying that this removes minerals from the water and keeps their skin from itching. While I like the various settings, except for one, which I will describe in a minute, this shower head did nothing to make my skin itch less. The water cascades out torrentially and I'm thinking if it does that, then perhaps the filtering system is lacking a bit. Also when I turn it all the way counter clockwise, I get a kind of misty spray. Be careful with this one! I inhaled as I turned it to this setting, and it felt like I nearly drowned standing up as the mist entered my lungs. I choked for a good while afterwards. I do recommend it as a general showerhead though. Much nicer than my old handheld, though not as versatile.
