These are great fishes, my cat loves them and will get in the tub to bat them around. Wish they would run longer I have to reset them a few times a session, but they work well and the batteries last multiple weeks before needing replacing.

These actually swim unlike some others. My grandson, who's 2, loves swimming in the pool with the fish. I like them too.

Bought these for my cat to watch and play with. They really get her attention and she loves them! I am impressed by how much they resemble real fish when they move in the water. I see that there are some reviews on here that complain about the battery life. I haven't had that issue but I will say that I have yet to figure out exactly how they turn on and off. They just kind of.... turn on by themselves when they are messed with. Sometimes they turn on randomly on the shelf when they are not being used. They will also randomly turn off while in use for no apparent reason. Most of the time, they turn right back on after being proded a little, but not always. Turning them off because you want them off can sometimes be difficult. I have found that holding the fish on its side and applying a small amount of pressure to the tail fin is the most reliable method of getting them to stop, but it is not always effective.

My kids love these, I just wish I did too. We have used them in the bath every night for a month, and to be fair 4 of the 5 are still functioning. So, 5 stars for fun, 1 star for the parent/maintenance experience. Following are the flaws that, if fixed, would have resulted in a 5 star review. Let me start with the battery and battery compartment issues. There is a small manyfacturing defect that has impacted all 5 of our units, where a bit of excess plastic protrudes out and makes the rubber seal fail (location of the excess plastic is pointed to with a screwdriver bit in picture 1). This has caused 3 of the units, with the original batteries installed, to allow water into the battery compartment and caused the batteries to rust. One of them had so much water it shorted a battery, but that unit did survive. Scraping off that little bit of plastic with a finger nail fixes the issue, and since doing that we have had no further issues with water getting in the battery compartment. Now, you might think that I would turn around and say that they should just make sure there was no excess plastic where the seal meets the body. However, I think removing the compartment altogether and shipping these with a rechargeable battery would also fix my second gripe: These fish chew through batteries. As mentioned, we have used these a lot and have already gone through 40 batteries in about a month with 4 fish. A rechargeable battery with a little charge 'pad' would have fixed 2 issues and I personally would have paid more for that feature. Finally, the last issue, and why we are running 4 fish instead of all 5 we have purchased. On the back on one of the units, water has gotten through the rubber gasket leading to the fin. Water droplets are visible right next to the controller which is the likely cause to it failing outright (picture 2). I don't fault the design on this one, we just got a lemon that will be returned/refunded. It's a bummer, but manufacturing issues happen. So, to the manufacturer: Make a version 2 with rechargeable batteries and we will try them out.

If your kitty loves water, like mine does, this is a MUST. I've bought 9 pairs of these so far. (18 fish!) My cats request them *daily*. Sometimes they don't let me put them away. The fish have engaging movements with multiple swim styles. Put them in a bowl of water and watch them go! They even dive! They'll go into sleep mode after 5 min, they're not designed to stay in the water constantly. To wake them up, pull them out for a few seconds and drop them back in. Remember to pull them out when you're done to extend their life. When their swimming slows down, it's time for new batteries. Considering how often these are used in my house, the batteries last a very long time. I separate fish as they start to slow, then replace a bunch at once. You'll be a tiny Phillips screwdriver. I've had the oldest about 4 mos. After daily use, 2 have finally gotten water damage/corroded and another has simply died. They had a hard, but loved life and were ready to retire. I expect most homes will get much longer longevity.

My 3 cats love watching these fish! I put them in a small open storage container. The cats actually drink more water when they are playing with the fish. Logan falls asleep watching through the side. I highly recommend.

These are very cute but unfortunately one of our two fish only worked one single time, even after replacing the batteries. For 15 bucks it’s a big investment for something that doesn’t last very long.

Les miens se lassent vite. 1/2 heure d'attention dans leurs cas c'est un exploit. Permet de tremper leurs pattes pour essayer d'attraper les poissons. Imitent bien la nage! Je ne les fait pas fonctionner tous les jours car il faut être présent pour sortir les poissons, les sécher et les remettre dans l eau toutes les 5 minutes à cause de la mise en veille automatique. Mais ça fait depuis 1 mois que ces petits poissons nagent 3 fois par semaine pendant 1/2 heure et contrairement à certains commentaires, ils fonctionnent parfaitement bien et je n'ai toujours pas changé la pile.. Je soupçonne certaines personnes de ne pas avoir lu la notice qui avertit que le poisson dans l'eau cesse de fonctionner au bout de X minutes . Dans mon cas environ 5 minutes. Et pour qu il nage à nouveau, il faut le sortir de l'eau et le sécher..
