Rega NEO Turntable PSU - Black

Bought this for my Rega Planar 3 and was sceptical as to the performance improvements for my turntable - also the price is not cheap, but was pleasantly surprised.It makes a big difference to the sound. Treble is enhanced and is much tighter and bass is deeper and full providing a far more complete sound. Also the ability to fine tune the turntables speed is significant. Using the RPM Pro app I found my P3 ran at 33.65 rpm. I understand that all Rega turntables run fast so I adjusted the speed using the provided speed adjustment tool. Also being able to change speed with the press of a button rather than removing the plater and moving the belt is a big plus.There was some hum initially from my speakers and the manual says this is due to the cartridge picking up interference from the Neo. I therefore rearranged my set up with the turntable further away from the Neo. To do this I had to buy an RCA cable extension as the P3's leads are quite short. Finally I moved the power plug for the Neo further away too as this also produces interference. Now there is no hum at all. One thing to note about the plug is it gets very hot over time so I always unplug the socket when not in use.The Neo stacks nicely with the Rega Fono preamp and lights up green when switched to 45rpm. I'm very impressed with this upgrade and would definitely recommend this to any Rega owner with a compatible turntable and the cash to spare.

The Neo psu is a handy little device. It was easy to install on my Rega Planar 3. The speed change facility is brill, it saves taking the glass plater off each time to move the pulley. The sound quality is improved. I think it is expensive, but in the long run you will see the benefits.

I was a little suspicious that this would have any effect on the sound quality, but had to replace my power supply anyway as it was making a humming noise, and knew that being able to switch effortlessly between 33rpm and 45rpm was an affordable luxury.I was blown away by the improvement in sound quality. Kate Bush had a better voice in the first record I played and subsequent albums have sounded tighter with more instruments apparent. It’s brilliant. A bargain.

OK, I’m an objectivist, so I didn’t expect my Rega P3 to sound any better with this power supply. And it doesn’t. What this device does is simply allow you to dial in (using the Rega strobe kit) the correct speed. All Rega decks (that I’ve heard) run fast. If you like that, fine. If you don’t, buy this power supply.

There was most definitely an increase in overall performance from my Planar 3; coupled with the electronic speed adjustment from 33 to 45; however, I was expecting a more significant increase for the £200+ plus I spent.

It's all subjective whether it makes a noticeable sound difference...I believe it does...but it's the ease of changing speed from 45 to 33 which is great.

A bit of an expense but a welcome addition to my system.

Bought this to power my rega 3 TT , I read plenty of reviews prior to ordering and am not disappointed, very easy to set up and fine adjust TT speed if necessary, the ability to change speed 33/45 with the press of a button rather than changing belt positions is a real bonus, the neo definitely quietens any motor Noise and does improve the overall sound stage.Great addition to my ever growing/ improving system, love rega products and big plus is they are British well done rega!!
