The Original FatIvan Fold Up Door Chock with Magnet Red

Purchased a few months ago and use it very often.Really cool concept. Especially cool on metal doors as it sticks to the hinge side for easy access.Very sturdy construction. Make sure your door opens farther than 90 degrees or it won't slide onto hinge.I give it 3 stars because it puts a lot of stress on the door and frame especially at the hinge screws. Also black was cheapest but has a discrete color and can be forgotten in doors when in use causing you to try and close the door while it's being held open.Overall good idea. Better than a door stop as I have a weather seal on the bottom that was getting damaged by a door stop but can cause a lot of damage if used improperly or if you have strong bommer hinge springs.

As far as what another reviewer said about it being too expensive for it being a one time use on a structure fire because you won't go back for it.... I do agree that it is expensive, but my partners life, my crews life, and my life are worth a few more bucks. Sometimes the plastic or wood wedges just don't work and id rather make sure that door doesn't close. By the way...I received it yesterday and i used it today.....I also went back for it. Easy to use with my structure fire gloves on too. Thank you for this invention. Finally a better mouse trap.

We allow our son to come and go into our backyard. We have a heavy metal security screen that catches wind and slams closed on its own. This posed a safety issue so I started looking into options. The “Fat Ivan” had good reviews so I gave it a shot. It’s a great product that blends in very well with the door (maybe too well). My husband is constantly trying to close the security door while Fat Ivan is in (my husband calls it Fat Frank). My only suggestion for potential buyers is to purchase one in a bright color so you can see that it’s in the door jam. Ours hasn’t been damaged at all by my husband’s attempts to close the door but I would like to keep my door and Fat Ivan intact for a while.

I first saw FatIvans at a home show and bought some for stocking stuffers. What a hit!!! If you are constantly carrying heavy items and need someone to hold a door for you, you will not be disappointed in this product. I am an Event Designer and carry floral and heavy glass to and from a variety of venues. It is not always possible to prop a door open with a rubberized wedge. I have found this product to be one of the most practical in my event kit.Just recently, I was having some work done on my house. The contractor kept carrying materials in and out of the house. Since I did not have the time to jump up and get the door, I put in a FatIvan and the issue was solved. The contractor loved it so much, I gave him a couple for Christmas this year.I keep one holding my interior office door open so I always have it at the ready.

I bought one for my mom who uses a walker and has a VERY HEAVY front door and laminate floors. No doorstopper would work. We've tried them all. She had a really hard time keeping the door open long enough to get through with her walker if she had anything else to carry. This thing is perfect! We used it several times already and it's exactly what we needed for her situation.

I'm a truck driver that delivers heavy items that keep my hands occupied. I don't always have someone to help with doors so this comes in handy a lot. Easy to put on and take off. Note that the hinge does need to be the type that this can hang from, you won't be able to use this on some doors but that's usually not the case.

I have a spring-loaded door to my garage that is always difficult to find ways to prop open when bring things into the house. This sticks to the metal door frame, is quick to install with one hand, and fast to remove when done. Sticking it to the doorframe ensures it does not get lost.

I have an outswing door to my lanai. The drop from the house floor to lanai floor is enough to keep any traditional door stop from being effective. This thing really does the trick, even in high winds. Solid as a rock and well made. Definitely recommend. It slips between the door and the jamb, around the hinge and prevents swinging in both directions.

We have a garage back door that when the garage door is open the wind tunnel slams the door. It’s super easy to use and store. Rugged solid tool.

Works great, we have textured floors so a traditional door stop didn't work for us. this works great!

Very Handy tool but a little bit pricey
