I love my Ninja Woodfire. It is so much easier to cart about than a big bulky tall BBQ. I only use the smoker when outside with it, for obvious reasons, and I know they say it is only for outdoor use, but when it is wet outside I use it on top of my hob under my extractor in my kitchen, where I will use the grill and air fryer or bake, dehydrate or reheat option. The smoking function, for outside only, is really easy to use. The container needs to be fully filled with suitable hardwood pellets for initial ignition, even for short cooking times otherwise it won’t light correctly. To fully appreciate the grill, I found cuts of meat need to be quite thick otherwise it will overcook before you get good markings, unless you have your own supply of meat that is not pumped up with water as often is the case with supermarket meat. If too thin it won’t brown correctly and will render water preventing it from browning. Thicker cuts will give you more success getting medium/rare with excellent flavour and markings. Apart from thick cut beef steaks, thick cut pork shoulder steaks are excellent with smoker as they take longer to cook and the fat crisps up beautifully. I haven’t yet found the need to faff about with anything other than salt, pepper, dried garlic and herbes de Provence. You appreciate more the smoker flavour and the true flavour of the meat. I bought myself the extra flat plate and half sized crisper basket. The half sized crisper basket is useful, for example, for making wedges, alongside a small spatchcocked chicken that you started on the grill for flavour (minus the basket) and that you finish cooking using the air fryer (with the basket). I even managed to make a chocolate brownie traybake using the bake option on the knob. It works. The centre tends to be gooeyer than the sides but it’s still tasty. Will have to tweak temperature and cooking time no doubt. The top and bottom doesn’t burn as it does in a conventional oven which is good. The flat plate is great as a baking griddle and for grilling smaller items such as veg and shrimp. I haven’t yet used it as a dehydrator but no doubt would work, though it may be a bit small for dehydrating large quantities of fruit, veg, mushrooms or meat, unless there was a racking system, which there isn’t. This is an excellent machine. Expensive, yes, but I hope will last me a long time. Having a smoker option as well as airfryer etc is worth it and the Ninja woodfire really does cut cooking times a lot!! I would recommend the Ninja Woodfire to anyone. So far I do not regret it one bit!

I have used gas BBQ's and Charcoal ones, but my Ninja Woodfire is absolutely brilliant and makes BBQ' ing so easy. Very little mess and easy to keep clean although around the smoker does get a bit sticky with tar from the smoke. This does clean off with a toothbrush and a drop of soapy water. Top tip: Cold smoked cheese is fantastic and takes about an hour, all types of hard cheese works well. Top tip No 2: When wood pellets are opened and they immediately start to absorb moisture from the air and need to be kept in an airtight container. When used maybe a day or so later on the smoker they may tend to go out during the process and need to be re-ignited. To avoid this put the wood pellets to be used in a microwavable dish and ping for about 30 seconds MAX. This takes the moisture out and they ignite better and stay smouldering. (PLEASE NOTE: I do not accept any responsibility for any issues caused by using a microwave to dry the pellets. That is done at your own risk.)

I already use a Ninja grill in the house and decided to get this to use in place of a charcoal barbecue in the garden. I had one false run with a unit that triggered my power in the house to cut out, but the second unit worked fine. There is a reset on the plug that seems to need to be set each time to get the grill to work, plus an annoyingly awkward on/off button located underneath the grill in what has to be the most illogical position - unless you have this on the stand (currently out of stock/unavailable), it is impossible to get to without turning the grill upside down. Some minor self-assembly is necessary, but it doesn't take too long to get it up and running. I chose to grill veggie burgers as the first use since that was straightforward and we were eating this within 20 minutes of the grill being switched on for the first time. Nothing sticks and it is wonderfully easy to clean up. Food cooks well and with no need to turn, at least so far. The preheated griddle takes care of the underside and the grill does the top. The timer counts down and turns the unit off once it has completed and you then just serve up, noting that you can vary the timer during use by adding or subtracting minutes if you think you have under or over estimated how long it will take. Although the unit is heavy, it is only a little heavier than my existing Ninja kitchen grill and manageable, even though I currently have an injury to my elbow. I am hoping to get the stand once it comes back in stock as it is too large to store outside and ideally I would like to place it in a shed, which will be easier with a stand. The box it comes in is far too large to use for day to day storage and makes it very unwieldy. I found the grill easy to use and could have done so without reading the guide, although obviously you should go through that for the safety information, including the need to only use this outside. But if you have used other Ninja appliances before, you will have a head start as it definitely follows a similar theme and makes it easier. I am pleased to have this and it makes outdoor cooking so much easier, even the clearing up. Wish I had got one sooner.

Bought one for my daughter and her partner on their joint birthday, as they needed a bbq for their first summer in first home, and was so impressed that I ended up purchasing for myself and for Xmas for other daughter and husband.😁 We all love them, and keep them for indoor use, as so handy, clean and economical, and they get taken outdoors for outdoor grilling/bbq. Better priced than anywhere else, and so worth it ! 👌 Ninja strikes again! 😁

These are excellent to use. Not exactly the same as a charcoal bbq. However very quick and convenient and a lot easier to clean.

The machine ignites the pallets and smokes for a short period then it cuts out unable to continue the smoking the pallets i have used came with the machine do not what to try next. adding to this review because i missed the return date i will purchase a new machine will i be entitled to a discount on a new purchase.
