Ecuador and Galapagos (Insight Guides)

This is a fantastic picture book that will give you a clear sense of Ecuadorian culture and the sights you have to look forward to. My husband is very visual and really enjoyed being able to browse through this to help with our planning. It really made us excited about the trip. However, I think it is a little bit thin on actual content. The recommendations were good, but I didn't feel that I was getting a good representation of what was really available, especially related to lodging, transportation, etc. I will say that it worked beautifully as a companion to another, content heavy, tour book.

Complete, touching on all aspects of the country from ancient history to present day culture and politics; fun to read. Good maps, except for the ones inside the covers, which have light gray print that is hard to read. Well indexed. Very heavy in weight for a book to take along while traveling,

We spent 12 days in Ecuador this month, 7 on a boat in the Galapagos, and 5 in Quito. The book provided excellent info, and was the only guidebook I took with me. I especially enjoyed learning about the history of this unique country, and the photography was superb.

Great guide to find things in rural areas. Ecuador roads are changing. Get the most recent guide book so you can find your way more easily. We rented a car in Quito and drove 1600 km using this book continually. I liked it a lot. Also get a GPS ...

I think we went to all the amazing parts of Ecuador, this book didn't have much to recommend on the places I went except Galapagos, actually I left the book behind and got one on just the Galapagos. It did cover the history In great detail and was very through.

nice pictures good info not sure how accurate it is as it was a gift for someone going to visit.

Used this guidebook on my recent trip to Ecuador. Excellent guidebook, especially strong on sightseeing and history of the region. Not so strong on hotels or restaurants, but I had all my hotels previously booked. The photography in the book is outstanding.

Great guide to Ecuador. All the eyewitness guides I have purchased have proven to be beneficial.

I always go for insight or first class guides. They have wonderful photos and make me feel inspired before each trip. Help me make up my mind of what I wish to do during my holiday and what to focus on while on a tourist site.

Insight books are very easy to read & help you to decide where to visit on a limited time scale.
