Very easy to use and turns out perfect slices
I bought this on the strength of the reviews (the biltong video sold it) but I still didn't realise just how efficient it was until I tried it today. It cuts through frozen meat like a knife through cheese, almost no effort at all, and it's far easier to set the slices to a uniform thickness than I expected. (It sounds complicated in the instructions, but it isn't.) Once I started cutting I also realised I could now slice only as much meat as I needed for the meal and put the rest back in the freezer rather than thaw the whole piece and live on leftovers for days. Overall, it's as easy as using a paper guillotine (easier than mine, actually) and way better than using one of those frozen food knives, which I could never get to work well enough for slices. This slicer really will pay for itself in a few meals – three 250g packs of hotpot-sliced beef actually cost more than I paid for this.Pros:* bargain price* space saving – stores almost flat if you dismantle the "hod" part but still doesn't take up much space if you leave it assembled* easy to clean thoroughly* slices immaculately – easier to adjust than first appears* feels very sturdy* saves waste – cut only as much as you need each timeCons:* the rubber feet wander a bit, but not enough to be a problemI tried a pork fillet (see pic) as a first attempt to get used to the blade, thinking I'd end up shredding the meat while learning to cut, but it came out perfectly first time. I bought the slicer mainly to prep meat for ramen and nabe, but it'll be equally handy for sandwich steaks, something I haven't seen in a supermarket for ages. A great piece of kit that I suspect I'll be using frequently.

Can't get the plastic off.
The blue plastic can't be removed, after 30 minutes of trying I was unable to undo some of the specialist screws to get this off so it will have to stay forever. All of the individual parts of the product have the blue wrapping plastic on, and the assembly of these parts has happened afterwards. It's ok at cutting but you have to make sure the knife falls down very close to the edge of the meat holder part. If there's a gap it doesn't cut properly and if you pull the knife across too far, the blade catches on the meat hold part. It's really hard to clean. It's not very sharp. It just mashed an apple up, it's slightly better at partially frozen meat.I would recommend spending your money on a better quality product. Also, the adjuster which decides what thickness the slices are flaps around a lot.

Simple meat slicer
The slicer is simple to install and use. The main issue I have had is about the edges of metal which are quite sharp on the rough or back sides. That is the main reason for 3 Star. The knife is very sharp to cut meat but control the thickness was not very easy since meat is soft and has nothing to support the meat. It might be good idea to freeze the meat a little.

Disappointed
Slicer arrived fast enough, quality seems ok,just doesn't slice through meat rolls, sharp enough but be better with sawing action as just squashs meat, won't work on bread either.

Better than expected
I bought this slicer for slicing beef thinly [beef and horseradish sandwiches fiend] The slicer works better than expected and has freed me from buying the expensive deli supermarket packs. A word of warning regarding cleaning - the slicer has 4 'suckers' which work well on a kitchen worktop, but work way too well when placed in a sink full of water... The slicer stuck so hard to the sink bottom that I was genuinely afraid that I would dislodge the whole sink from its mounting when trying to heave the thing free...

Great for sliced cheese too
I bought this manly for slicing frozen steaks for steak sandwiches, and slicing frozen salamis for pizzas etc....But I tryed it on a block of cheddar cheese today, it cuts it perfectly....I wanted lots of slices about 1mm thick, I cut 40 slices all exactly the same In about 5mins....

Dangerously sharp EDGES!
The product needs some improvements in solving how to be user friendly. If it wasn't wrap in that silly blue plastic that I had to carefully remove, then I can give this a 2 star. Very sharp edges all around the product, washing it wasn't easy, unless using gloves. But when actually cutting frozen meat, I will tend to use a little force, and if I make a mistake, it's going to cut me very deep I can imagine!
