Question 1

How many logs do you roughly get in one bag?

Accepted Answer

Anything between 12-20 logs depending on the thickness of the logs being packed at the time. If you message us with the order asking for chunkier or less-chunky logs we will try and accommodate this. Obviously if the logs are chunkier there are less in the net than if you ask for less chunky however, they will always fill the net 25cm x 40 Litres and average around 12-15kg per bag depending on variables, i.e. denseness of the area of the tree being packed. Hope that this helps!

Question 2

Would these be appropriate for decorating a fire place?

Accepted Answer

Hi, yes these would be appropriate for decorating a fireplace

Question 3

how long does 15kg burn for

Accepted Answer

Open fire or woodburner ? The burn is always going to be determined by the availability of oxygen. and the size of the fire , so too many variables to give an answer . Also you will never get more heat out than is stored in the wood. On price for heat output these are expensive. Nothing wrong with them. Many buy them as do I for decorative logs to have in the fires on display over the summer. But not for everyday use. Does that help ?David

Question 4

Hi has anyone used these in a pizza oven ?

Accepted Answer

The best woods to burn in your pizza oven are dry, seasoned hardwoods such as oak, maple, ash, beech, and birch. Oak is probably the safest, is easy to source, and burns very hot compared to other woods. Hardwoods can weigh up to three times as much as softwoods, so they give off more heat (BTU’s) for the volume... Any help.

Fruitwoods are also extremely popular, including apple, almond, cherry, hickory, pear, and pecan. Another advantage of fruitwoods is their fragrance. Some of the best-known wood fired pizzerias swear by apple wood because it burns very hot, and has a great aroma and flavor.
