Tuck sharp!
I own a 3 more Sigma lenses. This is by far the sharpest. Well packaged, solid construction, rigid plastics, heavy lens due to all the glass inside and paired with a D810 you can feel the weight but it feels so professional and well made in hand and such a good performer in the field - I shoot weddings and portraits. Super fast, tuck sharp never had an issue with it the only downside it came very off in calibration so I would suggest to expect that and get it calibrated asap prior using it. Also ranks #1 in sharpness in DxOMark. Comes with a lens hood and cap in its own secure pouch. Must have for all the wedding and portrait photogs out there!

Perfect!
Super sharp lens which didn't even need any further micro calibrating as it was spot on from day one. The delivery took a bit longer than expected but definitely worth the wait..

Amazingly sharp lens
Sigma have earned themselves a reputation for high quality yet good value glass and this lens epitomises that. Super sharp even on a high megapixel body, with well managed colour fringing.I have this adapted onto the Canon R5 and performance has been excellent. Autofocus is fast and accurate, which is something that wasn't necessarily the case on native DSLR bodies. On a mirrorless camera, this works beautifully.Only downside is that it is a big, heavy lens, especially with the adapter. But for this quality, it's worth the extra bulk.

Great lens
Big and heavy but worth it. Focusses perfectly on my EOS R. Needed some MFA on my 5DS but once calibrated worked fine. Great image quality and bokeh.

I had no idea I would get such a beautiful image from this lens. Outstanding.

Cannot praise this lense enough.
Cannot recommend this lens enough. I usually buy cannon but I purchased the Sigma Art 24mm and was so pleased with it I bought the 85mm for portrait work. The quality is excellent and a friend who has the ultra expensive canon 85mm cannot believe the quality. He is selling his cannon and buying the 85mm art now.

Great
Very heavy but fantastic lens. I would say worth its weight in gold but its stupidly heavy so probably not!

DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON
This was and is one of my favourite portrait lenses to use on a full frame. But my stupid head decided it was a good idea to buy it from Amazon because it was slightly cheaper than elsewhere.I purchased this lens in October of 2021 and as of November of 2024 the lens has a happy family of fungi growing on a front glass element 🫠I own vintage and modern lenses - none of them have fungi, they all are used with care and get “ventilated” regularly.Sigma said they won’t fix it because it’s grey import and the warranty of 3 years that comes with Amazon purchase is useless; they recommended I spoke to Amazon, which I did. Amazon then sent me an an email asking to send an email to blahblahblah@amazon explaining what the manufacturer said, and assured me I’ll get the answer within 48 hours. Not only Amazon refused to address this issue, because it’s been over 3 years since the purchase, but they didn’t even bother to send an email explaining that - had to chase it up myself. Please, do not make the same mistake, and purchase from a reputable, affiliated retailer if you don’t want to repeat my experience - those few bucks are not worth it.
