Really light but very warm even at below freezing temperatures.
I bought this quilt to replace a heavier quilt. As I’m older now, I’m finding changing the quilt cover very difficult. I had a good quality quilt but it was too heavy to shake into place. It also difnt completely fit the cover. I had to shake it repeatedly to get an even overhang on both sides of the bed about 3” on either side. This Jasmine Silk is amazing. I put it on yesterday with very little effort as it was so light and it completely fitted the cover. No more shaking to get it even. I was dubious about it being warm enough as it’s so light but it was brilliant. I always have my windows open and no heating on in the bedroom and it was 0 deg last night and the bedroom was quite cold so I had my blanket at the ready as I’ve had to use it with my other quilt on cold nights. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was really warm and no need for the additional blanket despite the fact it feels like a summer weight quilt. BRILLIANT and no more struggling with heavy quilts. Really glad I went with this quilt as opposed to a down quilt. My husband would probably think it was too much to pay but I think it was worth every penny. Can’t recommend enough.

FABULOUS
Silk duvet is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!! Hot, sweaty sleepless nights are gone. This duvet is lovely and warm but doesn't overheat you. It's much lighter than feather duvet and a lot less noisy. It drapes beautifully over the body and just feels so nice. I can't praise it highly enough. Yes it's expensive but what price a good night's sleep? We loved it so much we got one for me and one for the husband too! Now we have our very own micro climates. As a general rule I tend to feel warm, hubby feels cold. Our room is probably c 16 deg C and we each have the 9 tog - it is perfect for both of us and now at night he is warm enough and I am cool enough. There are scientific explanations for this but frankly we think it's magic ;)

This quilt is amazing!
We have been so impressed with this quilt that we are ordering a second one for our daughter who suffers with asthma. The quilt is just so comfortable, and quite unlike any quilt we've had in the past. It is light, but snug; warm and cool, as needed; and very well made. My wife tends to feel too warm, no matter the weather outside, whereas I might feel a bit of a chill from our open windows. In the short time we've had this quilt, we have had cold, windy nights, and unseasonably warm nights. In both scenarios, the quild felt the same! It was just so comfortable! We are so pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend them.

I would never use anything else!
The duvet is as thick as a summer duvet made of polyester but it feels like a 9 tog duvet made of feathers (which is 3 times thicker). It is covered in a luxurious cotton sateen and it has a couple of small ties at each corner and at the middle of each side for tying the duvet to a second silk duvet (to make an all seasons combination duvet) and to the silk duvet cover (I'm referring to the silk duvet cover from Jasmine Silk) - I never used the ties as the duvet sits in the duvet cover nicely, without bulking, and I do not have a second silk duvet. The stitching is well done and there is no sign that will desintegrate anytime soon. I'm sure I will use it for many years.Having bought (at the beginning of this year) only the 9 tog all seasons duvet (600 gsm silk), I decided that instead the 4 tog summer duvet (250 gsm silk), to buy the silk blanket available on amazon. The reason is that the blanket is 400 gsm silk and it is the equivalent of a 6 tog duvet plus it makes a nice bed spread. I have to say, I don't regret my decision. The combination of all season duvet with the blanket works really well. I can't talk about feeling cold or about needing anything else on top.Delivery from Jasmine silk was prompt as usual. Highly recommended.Update:I have been using this duvet now for 2 years and it still looks and feels like new. I just love it!

Better lofting required
Comfortable heat control but requires loft for snuggling into so using in spare bed

Quality
This duvet is excellent but since I've purchased it I have serious doubts about my sanity, paying 170 pounds for a duvet

great
Been using this a few months now so feel qualified to comment. It's lovely. Warms up quicker than our old duvet and feels heavier. that said it is much thinner than what is was replacing so you might find it cooler than a similar synthetic duvet.I suspect this is more down to the fact that it breaths and regulates temperature better so you're never 'cold' exactly but not 'toasty'.Some might like this , some not. I tend to sleep 'cold' so this is perfect. (although in the winter we did resort to an extra thin synthetic duvet over the top of this one!) However for next winter we'll be buying the extra 'top-up' duvet which will tie onto this one.Not the cheapest but if you're allergic to down, it's the next best thing :)

Sold by blind testing
My wife and I recently stayed in a 5 star hotel (don't worry, we got a good deal through Lastminute.com!)in Edinburgh. Whilst there we had four of the best nights sleep that we have ever had - the bed really was comfortable. This is unusual for any hotel stay and we asked the hotel for details of the bed and, in particular, the duvet. Thus was our first introduction to silk filled duvets. On returning home we researched silk filled duvets a little more closely. They cost rather more than your run of the mill polyester duvets, and are much lighter in weight than either polyester or down filled duvets. When you first put a 9tog silk duvet on your bed, the first reaction is that it is far too light to do anything effective. Give it a little time. You will find that it lightly moulds itself, so that it feels like a cloud of warm air on you. Wonderful. We were sold on the idea before we even knew what it was - and that must be one of the best recommendations you can have.
