Great Sound Quality and Excellent Value
I’ve been using these headphones for a while now and they’ve exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price. The sound quality is surprisingly good, with clear vocals, decent bass, and an enjoyable overall listening experience for music, videos, gaming, and everyday use. One of the first things I noticed was how lightweight they are. They don’t feel heavy on my head, which makes them comfortable to wear for extended periods without causing discomfort. The on-ear design fits well, and while they are compact, they still provide a good listening experience. The build quality is also impressive for a budget-friendly pair of headphones. They feel sturdy enough for daily use, and the folding design makes them easy to store in a bag or backpack when travelling. Portability is definitely one of their strong points, as they take up very little space and are convenient to carry around. In terms of noise levels, they do a reasonable job of reducing background sounds simply through the fit of the ear cups. They aren’t noise-cancelling headphones, but they block enough external noise to help you focus on your music or videos in most environments. The size is suitable for both younger and older users, with enough adjustment in the headband to achieve a comfortable fit. The swivel and folding features also make them more flexible and easier to use on the go. For the price, the value for money is excellent. You get reliable sound quality, a lightweight design, decent durability, and great portability all in one package. Everything worked exactly as expected straight out of the box. Overall, these are fantastic everyday headphones that offer much better performance than their price would suggest. If you’re looking for an affordable, lightweight, and portable pair of wired headphones with good sound quality, these are an easy recommendation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Affordable Headphones with Surprisingly Good Sound, to summarise this product!

Extremely happy with my headphones
Extremely happy with my headphones. It looks very stylish - it might not feel very sturdy but I just bought a headphone case for £5 to keep it safe. It arrived within 4-5 days and was well packaged. The sound quality is perfectly fine for the price. It might not pack a punch but it is clear and well balanced. Plus you can always go into your music equaliser on your phone/iPod etc, and change it accordingly to your preference. If you're a bit of an audiophile or want something that really hits the bass and high notes, you would want to look towards Bose or Beats (or sennheiser hd201 for a cheaper alternative). However if you're happy with a satisfactory clear sound on a budget then this is great! I got these for about £15 including p&p which is a bargain since they include the microphone for handsfree talking. The sound doesn't bleed that much so it should be fine for a commute. They're on-ear meaning that they sit on your ears. This can be uncomfortable for people with large ears (if you do have large ears you might prefer over-ear headphones, also known as around-ear). But I have fairly small ears so they just rest on the top of my ears. The leather cuffs feel quite comfortable and don't get sweaty (of course I haven't exercised with them on yet so they might get sweaty with some physical exertion). The wire is normal, it would've been better if the wire was braided because it would reduce the risk of damaging the wires, however they are still good for the price. It has a standard L-shaped jack, so it will fit into almost all devices. These headphones would be a good choice for people who just want simple headphones, or for children who need some entertaining. Hope this helps!

Don't worry
This is my second purchase of these Sony headphones, the last pair lasted about 8 years, ( no complaints) Reason for changing after 8 years is that the rubber ear cushion started to degrade, thus producing small black, unwelcome rubbery bits into my earhole. Don't worry, this is a decent set for the money giving good quality & volume which would suit most people. Edited: This set doesn't overide sound on the laptop when plugged in to the jack, its not quite as good as before, there's been a reduction of quality but my second lot works ok. They fold down into a case (if you have one) , nothing to dislike at the price, cheap as chips, good sound, safe buy, send back if you don't like 'em.

So much better than I expected
I needed some headphones. In the ear ones do not suit me at all. They either hurt, fall out, don't sit well and give you rubbish sound, or are just tinny. So I went for some over the head ones. Being a bit of a sound buff and liking decent sound systems, I was struggling to find decent earphones. I didn't want to get those massive things you see people wearing nowadays that are bigger than their heads but I didn't want to get tiny things and find the sound output was rubbish. I looked for middle of the road sized ones and because I wasn't sure about them, I didn't want to go and spend a small mortgage on a set that I was only going to be using now and then. So, I went for these and for the price, I thought, well if they're not great it is no great loss. As it turns out, the sound quality is fantastic. Sony are generally pretty reliable for sound and vision technology and these are a no exception. Ear coverage is pretty good but not complete, which suits me. This cuts out almost all external noise nicely. The wire is a reasonably good length. The connector is an angled connector which is great on a mobile phone where they stupidly put the jack connector on the bottom of the phone. Only a small criticism for me would be the over head arch is a bit on the bulky side but as they're adjustable, if the arch is too narrow it would be flimsy. These are pretty sturdy so form vs function trade-off which isn't a big issue. Part of me wishes I had got a wireless set of headphones as the wire can get in the way BUT, my experience with wireless headphones has always been that you find they're dead when you want to use them, or they run out of power during playback and keeping them fully charged all the time without discharging the battery would eventually kill the battery, so I did make a conscious decision to buy a wired set. All in all, no regrets and should these ever give up the ghost, I'd buy another set or an equivalent one from Sony. You don't need to pay the earth for headphones.

Really good
These are really good. I’ve had them a while now and use them often. They’re good quality and effective at cancelling out noise. You can still hear a little bit but if you have audio playing it drowns out most sounds. They’re adjustable and mostly comfortable but if you wear them for long periods (multiple hours at a time) they become a bit uncomfortable.

Works with PS4
BOUGHT FOR USE WITH PLAYSTATION 4 Bought for 15 quid (half price) cheaper option to PS4 official headset. Confused us at first because voice messages came through the TV... But chat comes through the earphones which is primarily what we wanted them for. It looks like the reason why the voice message comes through the TV relates to the PS4 itself - we're new to PS4 and are still learning how to use it. VOICE CHAT = ONE EARPHONE It's weird that voice chat on the PS4 only comes through one of the earphone, but we again think this is the PS4 and not these headphones, just can't be sure exactly what's to blame because we're new to the PS4. ALL-GAME-SOUND = BOTH EARPHONES What *is* nice is that in the same settings, we can set all sound to come through the headphones, and when that happens it comes through both headphones. [Note we haven't tested whether doing this changes how chat comes through or whether it still comes through on one earphone yet] VOLUME NOT EASILY ADJUSTABLE WITH PS4 USE There's no way to set the volume on the headset itself, but it seems via the PS4's settings there is a way to adjust the volume that it outputs. So there's a way around that problem, it seems, even if it's a little cumbersome. That said, unlike the XBox 360 (our last gaming console) the sound that comes through the PS4 as default seems far superior in quality anyway. So actually at its default setting, we didn't really have a problem. Also even though the mic is not adjustable, our friend said he could hear us just fine. MIC FUNCTIONS FINE FOR PS4 It *is* able to pick up sound from a distance, which is kinda nice as it means our friend can hear when either one of us sat next to each other speak. That might be a problem for some people though! I would need to ask my friend to tell us whether that only happens when one of us wearing the headset speaks (to make the mic work as it detects sound but then keeps going until it detects a significant drop in sound) or whether like those damned super-sensitive turtlebeaches sets, it picks up ever little sound including if your cat coughs on the other side of the room. We don't know that yet. Overall though, we're pretty happy with the product. Granted we've only just bought it, but it seems to be as well-made as all Sony headsets are. [I'm still using the headphones I bought for my Sony walkman nearly 6 years ago. Leather's completely worn off the ear pieces but the sound is still clear, and the headset still fits.] We just wanted an alternative to the in-ear headphones and mic that came with the PS4 which incidentally work perfectly fine, it's just they hurt our ears (never liked that format) and we wanted a pair we could potentially share. Sharing in-ear ones just seemed... a bit yukky! If they last as long as my walkman headphones with the mic also still intact, and if the mic doesn't turn out to be lets-bombard-friends-with-background-noise super-sensitive, then I'd be giving this headset a full 5 stars. It is DEFINITELY good enough for us as a cheaper alternative to the official PS4 headsets and we're very grateful to Sony for allowing compatibility... unlike some *other* consoles I could name [Xbox360] who made certain that unless you buy a console-specific headset, you ain't using one.

Great for travelling
I am so pleased that I found these headphones. They've been great when travelling on long train and coach journeys, listening to audiobooks and music, especially as they fold down so neatly to be carried in a small make-up case in my handbag. The sound quality is good enough for me, and I think that it's excellent for the price I paid. They don't block out all other noise completely, but I don't find those types of headphones comfortable anyway. I bought the headphones, originally, for Teams meetings at work; a couple of colleagues have borrowed them and were amazed at how affordable they are - they thought they were high end!
