Portraits

Photos are of course fantastic. However, the book -- and I could have checked that ... -- is very small. I expected a big "coffee table book." There are also no descriptions or stories to the photos at all - simply a thick book full of photos. I will stick to Instagram, where McCurry posts the same, but with relevant stories.

This book contains wonderful photo portraits from around the world. We already had the original version but this expanded copy introduced a new crop of fantastic shots. As artists, we find the photographs an amazing inspiration.

Great way to see over 200 of Steve McCurry's images without spending a fortune. It is smallish but images look great. There are a few double-page images but most are on the right-hand page with a small annotation about the image printed on the left page.

A book of wonderful and thought-provoking photos. Beautifully skilled photography and presentation.

having studied Steve McCurry in the past, and whilst in New Zealand attending a National Geographic photographic exhibition I decided to send for Portraits, I I more than delighted with it and have shared it with friends

I love this book and have just bought the story behind the photos.

Some stunning photos. Each page shows a full colour portrait, a few pages are double sided, having an image on both sides of the page. Great for reference and inspiration.

Ne avevo visto uno con la stessa copertina in una libreria, ma un tizio davanti a me aveva preso l'ultimo disponibile, per cui m'ero ripromesso di acquistarlo on line... peccato che il formato di questo articolo è molto più piccolo di quello che mi è stato sottratto sotto il naso.La qualità è sicuramente ottima, ma perchè il formato è diverso ?L'ho comunque tenuto per le ottime foto riportate, ma non vi aspettate commenti su questo libro poichè non ne ha...

Ich habe mir dieses Buch geholt, da ich selbst gerne fotografiere und die Bilder von Steve McCurry einfach einzigartig finde.Die Bilder selbst sind einfach beeindruckend und wie ich finde, gelingt es nur den wenigsten Fotografen, Menschen auf solch eine Weise einzufangen. Man kann in den Bilder förmlich den Menschen "fühlen". Von dieser Seite aus hätte das Buch von mir 5 Sterne bekommen. Wenn da nicht das große Aber mit dem Format wäre. Als ich das Buch bestellt habe, wusste ich bereits das es nicht sehr groß sein würde. Aber als ich es dann zum ersten Mal durchblätterte war ich doch etwas enttäuscht. Es passt einfach nicht so geniale Bilder in ein Taschenbuchformat zu drängen.Fazit: Ich bin zwar froh, dieses außergewöhnliche Buch zu besitzen, würde es mir aber aufgrund des Formates nicht noch einmal kaufen. Man sollte hier lieber zu den etwas teureren aber auch größeren Büchern greifen.

I am often guilty of not really paying attention to the dimensions of things I buy online, and being underwhelmed. This is one such occasion. The faces are all of a few places on earth, so there is not as much variety as I'd hoped. A bunch of people from one country, a bunch of people from another - maybe five? I can't recall. I haven't looked at and likely never will look at the whole book. Definitely a future thrift store donation.

E' un libro di sole immagini con brevissima didascalia circa soggetto e luogo. Sarebbe stato utile vi fossero anche i dati di scatto, macchina fotografica, focale e magari due parole dell'autore circa illuminazione e contesto in cui è stata scattata la foto.Ma esistono altri volumi, anche di Steve McCurry, con queste caratteristiche.

Come letto in altre recensioni le foto hanno giusto il titolo dietro la pagina. Le foto sono bellissime e si, se il formato fosse stato piú grande sarebbe stato favoloso é comunque molto piacevole sfogliarlo.

Come regalo ad un'amica a cui piace moltissimo la fotografia sembra sia stato molto gradito. La rilegatura è molto buona, la qualità della carta e della stampa altrettanto e le foto sono da Steve McCurry, un nome una garanzia. Con la loro profondità, sfogliando il libro ci si ritrova a girare il mondo tra mille culture e mille periodi differenti. Che dire, penso sia un must se siete appassionati di fotografia.

Gostei do livro, mas fiquei desapontado pelo fato que as dimensões dele não são as indicada na descrição do produto. O certo é 19x13x3,6 cm.

davvero troppo piccolo ...credevo che fosse un pò più grande le foto sono della stessa misura di una cartolina davvero poco più grandi.... nota positiva sono i colori usati nella carta ... davvero belli e naturali

El libro es pequeño, tamaño media carta (aproximadamente), pero está excelente. Lo pedí para un regalo y ahora lo quiero para mi.

I find myself picking up this book time and time again just for a quick glance, but end up spending over an hour examining the striking and beautifully composed portraits. It's a keeper.

Comprato come regalo ad un amico. Il formato è un po piccolo però la stampa e la rilegatura sono buone. Un bel libro per qualcuno che si avvicina al mondo della fotografia e soprattutto del ritratto

E' un libro con sole foto, non ci sono spiegazioni ne dati di scatto, al massimo qualche volta il luogo dove è stata scattata la foto.E' un libro minimale e dalla qualità di stampa elevata.Ogni volta che lo sfoglio mi immergo in un mondo di colori e storia che non ha certo bisogno di parole per esprimersi.

Sublime sintesi dei migliori capolavori di ritratti scattati da McCurry nel corso della sua lunga carriera di fotografo del mondo.Il formato è piccolo ma ben rilegato e ben stampato.

questo formato "tascabile" racchiude comunque una buona qualità di stampa e una buona quantità di immagini di mc curry...se si volese avere una qualità migliore bisognerebbe optare per un formato sicuramente più grande
