Works as a gasket should
Works as a gasket should. It is shaped properly. 2 months after repair, there is a bit of oil leakage somewhere. Only a small amount so no big deal. Maybe I should have applied more sealant at the corners of the arch over the camshaft area at one side. Also, after first try, the gasket on the far side toward the firewall got accidentally folded over so I had to try again. This is usually a problem on the far side due to obstruction by wire harnesses and inability to visualize everything on the far side. So, on my second try, I decided to apply contact cement to hold the gasket in-place more firmly and to assure it will not fold over again. This will make it difficult to replace the gasket next time around but with 180K miles now, there will not be a next time around, at least not for this specific car.

Spark plug well seals leaking after one year.
Oil leaking into the spark plug wells after only one year. OK, after further investigation, it looks like I installed the spark plug tube seals incorrectly. Need to tap these down into the valve cover, just like installing a crank shaft seal. Changed rating up to a 5.
