The licorice is soft and delicious as usual but Amazon was even better. We received the package, but the licorice was not inside. Somebody had slick the bag and taken the licorice out. We notified Amazon and they sent a replacement without any questions. Thank you, Amazon and the company that provides the licorice as well.

I am a big licorice fan. The best stuff cost more than I can afford. This licorice is affordable, so I can justify my addiction. This is made in Australia. It is soft. It has a strong taste. It was about 50 cents an ounce. It has sugar in it, but no corn syrup or Palm Oil. I never buy candy or food that has Corn Syrup or Palm Kernal Oil. Just about everything has Corn Syrup and Palm Kernal Oil. The only reason the food manufactures use those two ingredients is because they are cheap, but that are poison. This is the only cheap licorice that does not use them. I wish they didn’t use regular sugar. They should use more Annise and Molases for flavor and sweetener. If they still need sweetener, they should use organic raw, cane sugar. I have purchased lot’s of licorice from Darell Lea, their pricing is all over the place on Amazon. I only buy quantities when I get it for around 50 cents an ounce. This time I had to buy a 10 pack to get this price. If I had purchased 1 bag, it would have been twice as much, and not worth that price.

Australian soft black licorice is a go to item for me. If you like real licorice taste and tecture this is the best. I would mention it has a slightly different taste than the one I purchase in Australia but it's still a great classic sweet.

Can't get enough of this black licorice. FANTASTIC FLAVOR ! Great soft, smooth texture. I seem to go thru bag after bag.

I ordered this once before in Nov. '14, and was thrilled with this liquorice. I just received my 2nd order a few days ago and am very disappointed! Like other reviewers, mine sticks together in a stubborn lump and is sticky to the touch. It doesn't have as deep and rich a flavor as before AND I may be wrong but it doesn't look as black; more of a dark brown. My main complaint is that it is so soft that I can't actually chew it. It just sticks to my teeth and then flattens out in my mouth, sticking to the roof where I then just let it dissolve on its own. This is very different than before where it had more of a soft gumdrop texture which was perfect.. I notice that some other reviewers think it's changed as well (and not in a good way). I've written the company to ask if it's changed in the last year, and will update this review with their response once I hear back. Until then, I remain puzzled because it's not a subtle difference. UPDATE: I contacted the company and w/re to changes, they said: "There was no change in the recipe but the process was slightly modified to make a better eating product over the whole shelf life as it was getting hard towards the end." They also asked me for the production codes on the batch I had, and sent a few replacement bags. The replacements are good! Just as I remembered. So the batch I reviewed above is definitely defective. (See photos.) I gave them that feedback and they assured me they are "closely looking into this matter". So ... Given it's defective, I'm doing an exchange with Amazon. Will update again when I get the replacement batch. Fingers crossed! FINAL UPDATE: (I updated once already but edited review has not shown up. Arg. So this will be shorter.) I received my replacement from Amazon and its quality is somewhere between the defective and the good that the company had sent me. My conclusion is that the quality is not as good as it used to be before the company made changes. I also don't know that I can rely on getting a good batch if/when I order again. Upgrading from 3 to 4 stars because this is better than the defective batch, but not as good as it used to be. (Hope this edit makes it in!)

I absolutely love this licorice! It’s the best black licorice I’ve ever tasted and I eat about 4 pieces a night to keep me regular. I also like the non GMO factor and ingredients list, too.

Fresh, soft and great flavor

Our house is divided! Half of us love black licorice and the other half thinks Red Vines are licorice. We’ve had a lot of different brands over the years, but this one and See’s candy black medallions are the best. If you’re not a licorice eater, be prepared because these ones are actually oily like they should be. The flavor is rich, but can be a little overwhelming if you’re used to fake licorice. This is definitely the good stuff! A+.

Le produit était correct mais le prix est uniquement pour une unité. Le vendeur a indiqué 8 unités mais il ne m’a envoyé qu’une seule unité du produit.

All arrived in a box which had the branding on. Taste is amazing it’s a soft eating liquorice but does have a firmness to it which is very tasty. It’s quite expensive but worth it for a treat.
