I just sprinkled some on the top soil under the bush, mixed it in and watered it.

Can i just brew this in water and feed it to my plants rather than adding it directly to the soil?

Thanks for your interest in Down To Earth Alfalfa Meal. We would not recommend using Alfalfa Meal brewed in water or even in aerobic compost tea. There is very low solubility in most natural dry fertilizers, and there would be minimal benefit to applying in this way. We would recommend adding or mixing in to soil.

Down To Earth Alfalfa Meal is an excellent fertilizer for all types of plants. It will help with growth and stress resistance in particular. The addition of a higher phosphorus fertilizer such as Down To Earth Fish Bone Meal 4-12-0 could also be considered to encourage blooming.
