Fantastic pepper grinder
I love this pepper grinder. It may be kind of expensive, but it's built to last forever. The grind quality is nice and consistent and easy to adjust to the desired coarseness. The output is also very good, you get a lot of pepper per twist which was important to me since I like to use a lot of pepper. The only small nitpick I have is that it could be a little larger and easier to fill. It probably plenty of capacity for most people. You might want to use a funnel when filling it.

Excellent high-output pepper grinder for serious home cooks
This thing is an absolute beast and easily one of my favorite kitchen tools. I bought it about three years ago and it’s been used daily since then, going through pounds and pounds of pepper without issue. At this point it feels like one of those rare kitchen gadgets that actually justifies its price through constant use. The construction is excellent. It’s heavy, all-metal, and feels extremely robust compared to the flimsy acrylic grinders most people are used to. The metal burr system absolutely rips through peppercorns and produces a huge amount of output very quickly. That’s probably the biggest advantage of this style of grinder versus traditional twist mills. If you cook large batches of soups, stews, chili, sauces, or other heavily seasoned foods, this thing is fantastic because you can add a serious amount of fresh pepper in seconds instead of standing there grinding forever. One thing people should understand going in: this style of grinder behaves more like a coffee burr grinder adapted for pepper than a traditional pepper mill. It throws pepper out fast. Great while cooking, slightly absurd when seasoning an already plated dish because even a small turn produces a lot of pepper. A few downsides though: * The grind adjustment is somewhat annoying to change. I eventually just picked a medium setting and left it there permanently, which honestly works fine for most day-to-day cooking. * Filling it is a little awkward because the internal chambers aren’t fully connected, so you sort of have to fill both sides separately. * The included bottom cap is nicely made, but I rarely use it in practice. I find it easier to just keep the grinder sitting on a small tray near the stove rather than constantly messing with the cap. None of those issues have been major enough to stop me from using it constantly though. One other thing worth mentioning is that these grinders are clearly inspired by a much more expensive brand that pioneered the coffee-burr-style pepper grinder concept. Personally, I don’t think adapting metal burr technology to pepper is such a revolutionary idea that it should be untouchable, but some buyers may care about the design origin discussion so it’s worth being aware of. My biggest annoyance honestly has nothing to do with the grinder itself: the price has dropped almost $30 since I bought mine. I thought it was worth it at around $100, so at the current pricing it’s an even better value. Overall, if you cook frequently and use a lot of black pepper, this is one of those tools that genuinely changes workflow in the kitchen. It’s fast, durable, high-output, and built for people who actually cook rather than just occasionally season food at the table.

A Long-Term Testimonial
The Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill Delivers Enduring Quality Purchased back in 2022, I deliberately held off on reviewing the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill. I wanted to ensure that its performance wasn't just a fleeting first impression and that it truly lived up to its advertised long-lasting nature. After several years of consistent use, I can confidently say this pepper mill is a kitchen workhorse. From the moment you unbox it, the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill impresses with its heavy-duty construction. This isn't a flimsy kitchen gadget; it feels substantial and robust in hand, a clear indicator of its durability. True to its initial feel, this grinder has proven exceptionally durable, withstanding the rigors of daily use without any discernible wear and tear. What's most remarkable is that this device performs exactly the same now as it did when brand new. Grinding pepper remains an effortless task, producing a consistent and easily adjustable grind size with smooth, reliable operation. It has maintained its efficacy without any decline in performance, a testament to its quality build. A crucial reminder for potential buyers: this specific Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill features a steel grinding mechanism. While excellent for peppercorns, steel grinders can corrode and become damaged over time if used with salt. If you're seeking a matching salt grinder from Luvan, be sure to order their dedicated salt mill, which is equipped with a ceramic grinder designed to handle salt without issue. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a pepper mill that combines a heavy-duty build, long-term durability, and consistently effortless performance, the Luvan Pepper Grinder Mill is an excellent investment that has truly stood the test of time. Just remember to reserve this particular model for pepper to ensure its longevity and opt for their ceramic grinder for your salt needs.

Next Level Pepper Grinding
This is a great pepper grinder, but don’t get caught up in the marketing fluff. “grinder burr made of five-axis CNC” really just means the burr was milled using a pretty standard CNC machine, like just about every other stainless burr on the planet. “made of aerospace grade aluminum” is really just market-speak for “made of aluminum”. While there are different grades of aluminum, being “aerospace grade” is nothing special. Your window frame is probably aerospace grade aluminum. “CNC 430 precision steel” is actually a bit of a negative. This is just saying the burr is made with 430 stainless, which is probably the lowest end stainless you can get away with for something like this. They just throw these acronyms and numbers around because it sounds fancy. So as far as materials go, it’s really nothing special, so why did I buy it? Well, because in the end I don’t really think it matters that much. I still expect years of use, but time will tell (will update this review if anything happens). When it comes to performance this thing is a beast! It’s far, far better than the Peugeot wooden grinder I had before it. No more uneven grinds, or having to shake the pepper mill, and no more taking 20 cranks to pepper up something like a steak, this grinder is extremely fast and efficient. Outside of marketing fluff, there are a couple small negatives that take it down a star: The first is that the bottom cap uses a friction fit and it can be a bit stubborn to remove (or at least mine is). I’d much rather it be magnetic like the top. While the top being magnetic is nice, the magnet is fairly weak, so if you pick it up by the top then there’s a good chance you’ll yank the cap off and maybe end up spilling peppercorns everywhere. Perhaps the smallest issue on mine is that the machining for the grind adjustment isn’t quite right so it doesn’t line up with the notches, but it still works fine so it’s a non-issue, it more just shows that the machining isn’t quite as precise as the marketing-speak suggests. Overall, the negatives are minor. If you want Pepper Cannon-like performance at less than half the price then this is an excellent option!

Grinds tons of pepper quickly
This pepper mill is great. I have had this mill for several months now and it is a powerhouse and game changer if you use a lot of pepper. I got it because it was a more affordable version of another big brand I won't name. This version is definitely worth the price. I can grind piles of pepper very quickly. I use it for everything from meat smoke rubs to casual dinners. It has shown no signs of wear. The only thing I will say that the makers may want to think about, is that they should make a version with a bigger reservoir to hold more pepper, because you can grind so much so fast that you can burn through it all in a matter of a minute or so. I love it and wish I would have gotten one sooner. My old pepper grinder took forever to get what this does in a matter of a few cranks. Definitely worth the buy for a home cook. It is almost like a coffee grinder but for pepper.

Am I missing something? This is terrible
Classic review as all the others. I didn't want to fork over the $200 bucks for the pepper cannon so I bought this pepper grinder. Everyone talks about how great it is, and I just don't get it. Pro: There is only one. I went to fill this with pepper and I absolutely love how large the pepper capacity is. That is about the only good feature of this pepper mill. Cons: - On the inside of the pepper mill, there is no pass through section for the peppercorns to even out. You have to fill the left side of the mill, and the right side of the mill. - After filling the mill, the lid is not the easiest to line back up and put on. It looks like it should be easy, but it just isn't. - Weight: It is made out of aluminum and steel. I expected it to be heavy, but this thing is almost a little overkill. In a regular kitchen this is probably fine, but if you were a chef, your hands and forearms would be exhausted from using / holding this thing all day - Grind: Am I missing something? To adjust the grind, there are probably 30 different clicks on the bottom of the mill. I have adjusted it into every setting from ultra fine to coarse, and basically no pepper comes out. The mechanism just seems to be spinning with no action. It doesn't feel or sound like anything is grinding. I thought it might have been bound up, so I started turning it upside down and/or shaking it while grinding. If you vigorously shake the mill while you use it, it seems to work some, but this is ridiculous, and still yields little to no results. I am not sure what to say other than It looks incredible. I did all this internet research to try to figure out how I wanted to overpay for such a simple household item, and bought this Luvan. I was SO excited when it showed up, and out of all the features, it really only needs to have one. The ability to grind pepper. This pepper mill does not seem to do that after spending $80. Disappointed.

Better than plastic grinders!
I was looking for an alternative to the plastic pepper grinder i had and this popped up! It is heavy and feels like it will last a life time. It is easy to use and you can change the size of the grind which is nice. So happy i don't have plastic in my pepper anymore!

Chef quality pepper grinder!
This is the larger version of this pepper grinder, intended for kitchen use. It is still the same beautiful, sleek design as the smaller table top version, but it holds a larger amount of pepper and has a removable cup on the bottom to catch the pepper after you grind it. This removable cup makes it easy to grind a larger amount of pepper and then measure what you need for cooking. It also has the option to deside what size pepper flakes you need for each dish. Great design!

Quality grinder
Having watched reviews of the Mannkitchen pepper cannon, I'd reckon this grinder would be in the same category. Grinds an insane amount of pepper with little effort, and feels like a very sturdy product that would last. Would absolutely purchase again.

Move over Peugeot pepper mills, there is a new number one.
Solid and heavy alumium, much easier to fill than traditional mills and much more output. Great product!

Best pepper mill I've ever owned.
I love pepper and I have dumped it on my food since I was a young boy. I had come to realize that I find your average pepper mill is just either run-of-the-mill or not even functional enough to reliably use. Some people actually use the plastic mills that you get at the grocery store which i find horrifying. I heard about pepper cannons while researching mills which put out pepper more efficiently and i looked at the steel grinder which is used in the most premium brand and compared it to other options. This mill actually has a grinder which is very much in line with the design of the best quality mill you can buy which is great! This mill is less than a third of the price too! The mill is very beautiful and it didn't have branding plastered on the side but it's on the bottom cup which i appreciate. The aluminum body is something that i appreciate, the main body is knurled for better grip rather than smooth which is a great feature. The course adjust knob on the button is snappy, it feels nice to adjust. The best part is that this grinder does grind very efficiently, the steel grinder has channels the funnel the peppers right onto the grinding/cracking area on the device which is just perfect. It's actually so satisfying to have pepper crack out at every turn, it's so nice not to need to crank on a mill so many times just to get a small amount. With this mill you'll be rewarded with abundant amounts of cracked pepper with ease of use. The only one thing i might be concerned about is the strength of the shaft which perhaps is not as strong as I might want. There is a significant amount of torque while turning the grinder while crushing so many pepper corns and for a product that i would like to last a lifetime and then some... It could perhaps have been more substantial. As a summary. Best pepper mill I've ever owned by a landslide. Very high quality. Could perhaps have had a more solid crank shaft but that's speculations. If you love pepper then you need a product like this and the price is actually very reasonable.
