Two customers have reported that when the jug is removed it leaves the blade section still attached to the unit allowing the liquid to pour out.

That happened to me too. Being fair it worked very well for a good number of years (but the first few years, it was only I and using it scarcely, whereas the last year a flatmate started using it every day...) . However, when it finally broke, the malfunction you experienced was precisely the one that took place with mine. It's terrible because you end up losing the "goods" once they are ready to serve, as the second you go to remove and serve, you end up with a bottomless jug in your hand and your "gazpacho" or milk shake all over the kitchen table and floor... The fact more people have reported this fault means, there is something going on with this make. If you are going to be using it a lot too, the whole thing now makes me think the fault reported above not only is likely to occur, but will actually also occur sooner, rather than later.

Will it make breadcrumbs

Yes, it does. I find it best to add the bread a bit at a time through the hole in the lid while the blades are running. Also best done in batches. Does them quite effectively though.
