The ultimate polytunnel book
The book is written in a style that is practical, informative and relaxed - just as if your good friend who is an expert gardener was with you, ready to answer all your questions patiently. It sets out the steps to be followed from first thinking about getting a polytunnel to harvesting and enjoying the crops. It is clearly organised with a month by month guide that takes the reader through the year, making all the tasks to be completed somehow less daunting. I particularly liked the ticked helpful hints that are scattered through the text. The introduction tells us that the author has been a polytunnel gardener for years and has written widely on the subject in gardening magazines; this is evident in the clarity and enthusiasm that comes through. Furthermore the illustrations not only enhance the experience, they also offer mouth-watering hints of what can be achieved. Novice and experienced gardeners, along with armchair gardeners, will find the book an informative treat.

Just what I was looking for.
Bought another one after receiving. Really well organised and colourful, good quality book. I'm a beginner and it gives a range of plants for each month. Plenty of information but feels like a digestible reference book too. Writers from Ireland.

Very practical advice
We recently bought a polytunnel, and bought the book at the same time. It would probably be best to buy the book 1st and think about some of the suggestions before buying the polytunnel, but anyway I am very pleased with the book. It is very well set out and you could easily get the info you're looking for - sectioned into how to set up, month by month guide of jobs to do/veg to sow, and an at-a-glance section on vegetables, plus tips on making your own plant food and troubleshooting pests. And some lovely bright photo illustrations. Very pleased all round. So far planted radishes, lettuce, mizuna and potatoes. Just waiting for stuff to grow!

Wow. What a great reference book.
Wow. What a great reference book. I learned so much in the first 20 pages. Someone once said to me, "The more you understand the subject, the less you need to write". This book is a case in point. Thank you.

Hits the spot for a new polytunnel/greenhouse owner
A quick flick through this (Kindle) book was enough to give me a number of options I hadn't even thought of. Reading it now in more depth, I'm finding it's an excellent tool to help you get the most out of a polytunnel or greenhouse - beyond growing hot-climate veg like tomatoes, aubergines, peppers and okra. The monthly action plans are particularly helpful. I'm seriously delighted with it and unreservedly recommend it to anyone new to hot-house food production.

I love the pictures and ideas....
Gives a great over-view of what you can and need to do for the polytunnel by each month. Has lots of great pictures and great ideas, like shelves about eye level and how the different plots are arranged. My polytunnel is 30ft x 100ft and so there is a little size difference. The climate is a bit different here in Kansas, but I can adapt the ideas for my area. We have a lot of wind here and the plastic keeps kept trying to blow off. I love the pictures!
