Nice designed spade, good length, rivets filed smooth so you don’t catch your hand on them, only issue is the foot tread which is just the metal bent back at the top of the spade for comfort of your foot whilst digging. This has a tendency to catch on raised beds, edging etc whilst digging.

Solid and reliable
Chopped through thick roots, shame to ruin the nice shine to her but she's a cracking spade. Best I ever bought, about to frame her and may even get a little coat made up for the winter. We sat and watched game of thrones last night, I do love my new spade . Thanks

Kent and Stowe Stainless Steel Digging Spade
This spade has replaced one I inherited from my father, I have had it some 25 Years alibi it has had a few new shafts fitted. How long he had it who knows?Time has come to have a new spade and this is the one I have chosen, It has been an excellent purchase for use on my allotment, and has proved to be a winner in my books, Comfortable to use and handle, easy to clean after use and sturdy build, so hopefully many year of work in it. Only downside is at present the weather is against using it more. !!!

Wow, what a spade..
Wow, was this the right choice..Superb spade, extremely well made and astoundingly good value. Bit on the heavy side, suitable for tall people and with a good long reach. I really didn’t expect a spade this good. I’ve used it so far for digging unbroken ground covered in couch grass. Full leverage on handle, no problem. Comes with a 15 year guarantee.

Fantastic quality spade
Highly recommended product. I was looking for a spade for a big job in the back garden and this came top of a lot searches. Fantastic price too. The cheapest around.

Looks good so far
Item seems fine so far. Only issue is the top of the handle is not that comfortable due to sharp edges but not a big issue.

Blade broke under gentle leverage with 9 months
The blade joint is badly designed. The actual weld is very thin. The joint with the metal 'socket' that attaches it to the shaft is hollow.Unless as a digging spade if any power is needed. Give a poor design an Old fashioned' brand name and it's still a poor design. For lightweight use only.
