Hi - I don’t know how to contact you directly, but I really enjoyed the first packet I received. The taste was great and it was fresh and moist. The two subsequent packets I have bought have been very dry and somewhat stale. This is really disappointing. I wanted to know how to ensure that future orders can arrive fresh as intended? *updated - I did receive a refund for this last order (thank you!). I guess I am still apprehensive to keep buying it or not as I do not know if these were one off batches or if the result would be the same? **updated - I received a new batch again today and was again top quality. Thank you!

I was disappointed to find Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Bicarbonate and Potassium Nitrate listed on the label when I received the package. True biltong, developed in the 1600s by the Dutch in South Africa, according to local traditions, is preserved with salt, vinegar and spices. Not artificial preservative and not even saltpetre (potassium nitrate). That's a real off-putting factor for me. That said, the taste is alright, but nothing special, lacking in spice flavour, and not worth the intake of preservatives. Had I only looked at the various packet sizes available, I would have noticed the preservatives, as they were not listed prominently. Food items are not returnable, so this one's on me as I compost the remains of the bag. Back to Brooklyn for my biltong.

I've been ordering Bleddie Lekker biltong and droerwors from the store, for years now. However, the recent orders have NOT tasted good at all. both the wors and the tong. I agree with James H. that quality control should be implemented for consistency. You just don't know what you will get when you order it. When it's made right, it tastes delicious. When it's not, it has to be thrown out immediately. I grew up eating this stuff so I know how it's supposed to taste. I don't have time to make it myself or I would. But this is very tasty when made correctly. Sometimes they go heavy on the spices. This last batch was fatty. I ordered lean beef biltong which you can also order directly from their site. But it comes much faster when ordered on Amazon. Please get the recipe consistent and those of us from home will continue to support your business.

Ive bought more bags of this than i care to admit. This has ruined regular beef jerky for me i could never go back back!

Way better than I expected. I ate the whole bag in two days. The best biltong I’ve had from Amazon.

Not much flavor and was not expecting such a chewy texture. I could see how others might like it, but it’s not for me.
