Very sturdy, should last forever.
These files are made out of a type of plastic, they are not the ones that had been made out of paper and cardboard. I am very happy with these files, they are sturdy and should hold up over time better then the paper and cardboard version. Happy customer.

Very Useful
I have been looking for these for a long time. Paper expandable pocket folders all rip in time, no matter how heavy the material. These are in a completely different category. They work well to keep my tax information in. Also I use them for warranty booklets. I can write on the tabs, too, which I really like.

Beware-Plastic Folders Not Cardboard/Paper
Smead did nothing wrong, but when I tried to order the standard cardboard replacements this year, this was suggested and I failed to note they are plastic. This means they slide around on each other and are difficult to pull from the filing cabinet. Haven't found any advantages, more expensive, perhaps more durable, but these are put away year to year, so that doesn't matter to me. Buyer error, but I am disappointed in the product. Plastic folders really aren't very good, they also don't seem very environmentally friendly. For that reason, I'll use them now, but I won't buy again.

sturdy
These are hard to find in store front office supply stores. Please make sure you are ordering the correct size. I didn't pay attention and these are legal not letter size. I had to cut them down, but still serve my needs

Ever drop contents of torn paper file folders? Not these. Good. But east to slide whle carrying several.
They don't tear up like the paper ones, but they slip slide and easy to drop a stack you're carrying.

Nice and Big
Love the size of these folders and I have had no issues with the quality of them. I do wish the front was cut just an inch shorter than the back to make labeling a little easier.

Not Tear-proof
We use them regularly for daily, frequent access for files/mail - they are not "tear-proof" as the description states. I'm still looking for a more durable product that does not seem to exist. They only last us about 3 months, if that.
