Are wiring connection instructions clear? Not really versed on how to wire up this hitch so that all the trailer lights will work. Good as Factory?

Hi Larry, Yes, the wiring instructions are very easy to follow. To wire it up, just remove the two left hand screws on the rear left tail light and take the tail light out of it mounting position. There's plenty of room to feed the wire down to the hitch. Plugging the wiring harness into the factory tail light wiring is simple, because there's only one way to connect it. After that, reinstall the tail light and put the two screws back in. They need to be snug, but don't over tighten. Underneath, run the wiring along the frame. The handy wire clips plug into factory holes on the underside to keep the wire up and out of the way. Hook the end of the wiring harness to the clip on the hitch and you're done. Like you I'm not too keen with automotive electrical, but all total I had the wiring installed and hooked up in about 15 minutes.

Will this fit my 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and maybe a stupid question but did my jeep come with the ability to add this without much effort?

Yes, it should fit your 2017 JKU. I installed mine in less than 1 hour. No drilling required. The mounting holes are already in the rear cross member. When installing the wiring harness start at the hitch and feed it up to the taillight. There is a piece of foam covering the hole the harness will go thru to the taillight.
