Relief after so many years of perimenopause
Let me start this review by saying that perimenopause sucks. The body changes affect the body and the mind. I started when I was in my late 30s and am now 44. Went to doctors with no intervention for the exception of anti anxiety meds and a cardiac workup. "Your labs look fine" kinda answers. Panic attacks with skipped heartbeats, horrific allergic reactions, so much so that my eyes would swell shut from histamine overdrive. Painful knees and back. Ridiculous weight gain in a short period of time. I was willing to try anything. Failure of General practitioners had led me to do my own research and symptom management, most of which are hormonal imbalances (estrogen and testosterone). I, for one, was iffy about HRT (hormone replacement therapy) at first, but I was open to supplements that mimic such hormones. I was recommended this supplement from a fellow nurse coworker after we had a long discussion about the pitfalls of perimenopause, well, mostly complaints from me. Mainly hot flashes, joint pain, anxiety, and drenching night sweats. Anyway, at that time, any relief was welcomed. Here were my experiences: First week: I took it consistently right before work. So far, no side effects. No noticeable relief. Still waiting. Second week: I began to feel less anxious. The intensity of my hot flashes had decreased from a 10 to an 7, however, the length of time for each flash decreased to about half the amount of time. Third week: I gave my coworker an update on how the supplement was working. I had to do an true assessment. My hot flashes had decreased in intensity of 10/10 to 5/10, frequency of 5x a day to 2 x a day, and the length of time decreased to about 10 minutes instead of the usual 30 min to an hour. Have you ever felt so normal again that you don't even notice how bad it was? That was what I was feeling! Relief from the torrid of sweat and burning red face and ears. Because of that, I have been getting better sleep (from patchy 3 hours to 5 hours straight through). Now don't get me wrong, I still had other symptoms at play. I still woke up sweaty, but not drenched, and my labile moods were still there, but not enough to warrant punching someone in the face. Month 2: Now, most of the sucky symptoms like hot flashes are just slight annoyances now. My sleep has gotten better because the drenching sweats has decreased to the level where I could just turn down the AC and sleep on cool, bamboo sheets (they do wonders BTW). I don't wake up in the middle of the night as much anymore, maybe once a week though. Intrusive thoughts have lessened. I have now used DIM for almost 3 months now. I am super happy that I was introduced to this. Now, mind you, this worked out for me, thank the gods. I still get anxiety that a cold compress on my neck or a cold bath can't help (it shocks your system back to rest and digest). I would suggest that you use this product, but also do your own research on how to manage your other symptoms. I also suggest HRT from reputable medical professionals that check specific hormone levels pertaining to perimenopause. I believe this supplement has helped with my symptom management, and it has improved my quality of life. Also, for the price of this type of comfort and peace of mind, it is a great deal! I hope you find my experience helpful.

My skin hasnโt been this clear in YEARS
Iโm 26 years old, Iโve suffered my whole life from sometimes severe pms and cystic hormonal acne that would come and go for years. I tried so many different approaches. I eat healthy, exercise, have tried birth control and so many skin care products that would help temporarily, but the problem always returned. The brain fog I would get before my period would be sometimes extremely debilitating. Desperate for a solution, I started researching estrogen dominance and how hormonal imbalances causes acne. I would not only break out bad before my period but even sometimes during ovulation! I would feel like I was having the same symptoms as pms. Apparently androgens in women like excess testosterone cause acne. And Dim even helps block excess testosterone. This stuff is a game changer! My skin hasnโt been this clear for THIS LONG in YEARS. I have combo skin. Stick with it, the first few times I took these I felt almost worse and wanted to stop taking it. I had a lot more agitation in general and had some mild headaches because it is metabolizing the old estrogen. Like others have said itโs super important to drink lots of water and maybe even take less than a whole capsule at first, I also take these with their calcium d-glucarate tablets. I notice headaches if I donโt take the calcium tablets alongside this. My skin was NEVER this clear, I always had cystic pimples or small ones on my chin (this for me was โclearโ skin, since I could cover it up with makeup). The blemishes slowly started to heal, my pimples got smaller and I stopped getting cysts, now my skin is clearer than I could have imagined. The second picture is me without any foundation or filters at all. I definitely struggle with estrogen dominance and my doctor agreed this is a great addition to anyone that struggles with it. I am also trying to get my mom to use this as she is also estrogen dominant and has fibroids. I have noticed a slight improvement in my moods before my period and experience less mood swings than before. My only complaint is it did make my last period heavier and more painful, when my periods are normally moderate. Iโm hoping this eventually subsides. Other than that I am very pleased. Update: I have been taking this for over 4 months now and still see a major improvement in my skin. I didnโt take this for about a week and I started breaking out all over again, so now Iโm aware I canโt go without it. I can miss a day or two, but no more than that. Iโve started using progesterone cream on the last 12 days of my cycle along with this. I still have some mood swings here and there, but nothing as extreme as before! My periods are barely a thing now and my acne has disappeared!!!!!

Seeing some actual results so far....
I've been taking this through two menstrual cycles. I wanted to wait that long before posting a review so that I could see if it was actually doing anything. Here's what I notice: 1. No more breast tenderness before periods. I drink caffeine and caffeine has always caused me to have breast tenderness before every period. I'm still drinking strong, caffeinated hot tea or coffee in the mornings but my breasts have stopped hurting before periods. 2. My periods are not as long or as heavy. For those of you who have struggled with heavy periods you will appreciate this: I only needed to wear tampons for one heavy day. Before I would have at least two to three heavy days. 3. Some of the facial hair I was getting is finer. Not all of it is finer. I'm not going to lie. I have some chin hair that has started to come in kind of bristly. (Ugh!) And some of it is still that way. But some of it is much finer. More like peach fuzz. 4. On my heavy day, I had some cramps and nausea in the middle of the day this time. That is very unusual for me. Most of the time, if I get cramps it'll be at night while I'm still and sleeping. I usually get light to moderate cramps (whenever I do get them - sometimes I have none) that wake me up out of my sleep. This time around, I got them at night and in the middle of the day. But I only had them for one full day. Usually, if I get them , it will be for one to two nights. They were pretty bad this time too. It's been a long time since I got the kind of cramps that made me feel nauseous in the day but still, they weren't so bad that Ibuprofen couldn't help them. I was able to handle it and go about my day. Hopefully, this happened because my body is still trying to adjust to this supplement. All in all, I rate this supplement 4 out of 5 stars because the positives far outweigh the one negative side effect that I experienced. I never really got the severe headaches that a lot of the other reviewers talked about. I think I may have had a very mild headache a couple of days when I first started taking it, but I've had migraines before that had me unable to move so that little headache was nothing compared to the kind of pain I've been through before. About 10 years ago, I went to my OBGYN because I knew something was not quite right with my body. I was having some irregular bleeding between periods and I was starting to get the facial hair on my chin that I talked about and I was having pretty heavy periods that lasted about 6 days with about 2 to 3 quite heavy days. She had me to go through this very painful procedure where they took a pinch of tissue from my uterus to send off for testing. During that test, she was using a camera to also examine my uterus and she found absolutely no fibroids that might explain the heavy bleeding and the biopsy came back normal. I also asked to be tested for PCOS and those test results came back negative. When I asked her what was wrong with me and why I was starting to get this facial hair that nobody else in my family seemed to be getting in their thirties, she said "that's just you". I hate to sound weak or vain but my self-esteem was shattered. Here I was trying to feel confident in the dating world and in my career and dealing with facial hair management. Plus I just didn't feel good and I knew something was wrong with my body. Why don't doctors recommend the dim supplement more often to women who have estrogen dominance? And why is it so hard for them to pinpoint estrogen dominance? I was never diagnosed with it but my body has shown signs of it for years. And I've suffered because of it. My self-esteem. My energy. My weight. You name it. When it first started, I used to go to the gym and work out for hours and was still gaining weight. I had a thyroid problem but it was being managed. I can't help but think that if I had gotten on DIM sooner, a lot of the issues that I endured for years, could have been diminished somewhat. But I'm going to look forward to the future and try not to dwell in the past and just be happy that I found something that seems to be helping me now. As I am in my 40s now, in probably five or so years I will be moving into menopause and I understand that this supplement can also help women with menopausal symptoms so I'm glad I found this.

Borderline Miraculous (Updated)
4 Month Update: Just added current pictures of my chin and jawline. Last month, I increased my DIM from the 200mg capsule once a day to the 250mg capsule once a day. I also started taking the SM Progesterone Cream about 2 months ago. Only other thing I take now is a daily multivitamin. Threw out all my acne creams. I'm a very happy woman. My hormones have been insane ever since my last baby, and I've had horrible, painful, hormonal cystic acne all along my jaw line for months. I tried every topical treatment known to man, but obviously it's not very helpful, since the root of the problem is internal not external. So, I was feeling pretty desperate and decided to search for some kind of natural supplement, which is definitely not my usual course of action. I'm generally pretty suspicious about any supplement based solutions. However, after hours and hours of research, I decided to try DIM. I was highly highly skeptical, but figured that an extra dose of broccoli probably couldn't hurt anything lol. Y'all. My mind is blown. I've only been taking it for a few weeks, and all my cysts have cleared up. All of them. All I have left are the scars now and they're starting to fade. I wasn't actually expecting this stuff to work, so (unfortunately) I didn't take any before pictures. But believe me when I say that if you had seen my chin and jawline three weeks ago, then you would realize how incredible these pictures are now. The quantity of deep, horrific, painful cysts all over my chin and jawline was absolutely insane. My skin didn't even look like skin anymore. It was just a solid painful mass of deep red bumps everywhere. There's nothing quite as humiliating as being a 34 year old mother who looks like she's going through puberty all over again. I recognize that these pictures probably don't look amazing, but believe me...they are. But it's not just the acne that's drastically improved. My wacky monthly cycle is regulating, my chronic bloating has disappeared, and I *feel* a million times better. I've been so physically exhausted for months and for some reason it just never even occurred to me that it might be linked to my hormones. It clearly was though. I've gotten more stuff done in the last couple of weeks than I probably have in the last year, and my crazy mood swings have completely stopped. I'm just back to being my normal self again. Even my husband and kids have noticed, and they're not the most observant people lol. Now, to be fair, I have no clue if this stuff works for everyone or if the results are sustainable long term. I also have no clue if certain brands work better than others or something. I just went on Amazon and picked this one because it had the most reviews. And it did give me a pretty fantastic headache the first two days I used it, which appears to be a common side effect when you first start taking it. But at this point, I have basically nothing bad to say about this stuff. I wish someone had told me to try a DIM supplement years ago. I'd never even heard of it before. Anyway, just thought I'd share this review in case anyone else seems to be experiencing cystic acne or out of whack hormones. You've got to try this stuff! Honestly, I'm feeling slightly sheepish, because I always say stuff like, "There's no such thing as a magical pill that will fix your problems." But apparently, if your problem is hormonal and the pill is full of ground up cauliflower or something, then it just might fix it after all ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฃ

Read this for a REAL review
I bought this product originally because I had very severe cystic acne. I had tried absolutely everything, so I figured that this supplement couldnโt hurt, right? If it matters, Iโm 23 year old female, of decent/good physical health, and Iโm not on any hormonal medications or BC. I am taking 120mg of calcium d-glucarate (alongside DIM) as well. Guys. When I tell you that my skin has been breakout-free, I mean it. I used to wake up in the morning with 5-10+ new severe pimples every day, despite using the finest topicals, AND derm prescribed antibiotics (amongst 100 other rituals I tried for clear skin). I was even considering going on a second round of accutane before trying DIM. But now, I wake up with ZERO new pimples, and my skin is clearly way less inflamed and red. I had already noticed a change in my skin by day 5, so it worked very quickly for me. Thatโs the biggest change from this pill, and itโs been invaluable for my self confidence and bank account. Within the first week of taking this pill, I also dropped 1.5 inches off my waist measurement. Seriouslyโthatโs how much bloating I almost immediately let go of. My feet, hands, face, and waistline are way less bloated and swollen. For example, my jawline is much more defined, and I have no more undereye or eyelid puffiness. In my face, I look like Iโve lost 15 pounds. At the gym, I notice myself having much more stamina and pep in my step, when I used to be so fatigued between weightlifting sets. I could go on and on about the benefits, but I think itโs important to note some of the side effects you might experience during the first few days of taking DIM that may otherwise scare you off if you havenโt done your research on this product. First and foremostโ the morning after my second dose of DIM, I awoke with a headache. It was a moderate tension headache, and it lasted 48 hours more or less, slowly getting better with time and OTC pain meds. This happens when your body is working hard to balance the hormones that were super imbalanced in your body. This headache WILL go away, and is not bad at all. It is by no means a โmigraine.โ You will not โNeEd tO bE RuShEd tO tHe HoSpItALโ over it. Come on. Secondlyโ I see lots of reviews mentioning that the color of your urine will change. Yes, this is somewhat true, but not fully. The DIM metabolites have an orangey-red color, and they are flushed out through your urine. That is the color you are seeing. If youโve ever taken a B vitamin, and noticed that it later turned your urine a bright yellowy tone for a short timeโDIM does the same thing, but a different color. So no, that isnโt blood in your urine (unless youโre experiencing major UTI or kidney illness symptoms, obviously). Itโs just your body getting rid of your waste, as it does. Thirdlyโ I definitely recommend taking this with a meal. It made me a little nauseous the one time I took it on an empty stomach, which makes sense. This is a supplement that comes from vegetables, so itโs much better for your body to digest it alongside food in order for it to be 100% properly absorbed. Overall, I would definitely recommend. The short headache was a very small price to pay for the amazing benefits I already feel from this supplement. I cannot wait to see how my health and appearance will continually improve! As always, speak to your doctor if you have any questions.

Works great, but not without severe side effects (for me at least)
(Suspected PCOS and Endo) First I want to say this stuff has been a GAME CHANGER, when, of course, the vomiting stops and the migraine subsidesโฆ Every morning since I started this, Iโve woken up with a terrible migraine at the same time every day, despite taking this product as directed once in the morning after I wake (and the vomiting stops.) If I take a Goodyโs powder when the migraine first comes on, Iโm good to go for the rest of the day, and I feel great! Iโm happier, have more energy, my skin is plump and glowing, my lips are full and my usually pale olive skin is more pigmented (all signs that my estrogen levels are evening out.) However, if I donโt take a Goodyโs in time, the migraine progresses to a level making it impossible to function, then the nausea kicks in. Some days it leads to projectile vomiting and running to the bathroom (other end.) As soon as Iโm able to keep a Goodyโs down though, all lessens then stops and Iโm back to feeling great! Itโs a very strange phenomenon, and one I canโt figure out. Itโs been 5 days of taking goodyโs powder every day, which is very strong and not good for my stomach or kidneys (Iโm already feeling the effects of that.) I fear if I canโt get rid of the problem, Iโll have to stop the supplement, which would be a real shame as itโs the most normal Iโve felt in quite a while. However, dealing with a migraine and vomiting from 6am to noon every day is not idealโฆ Iโll try to update this review if I figure it out.

PMDD help with supplements
I want to write this to help people diagnosed with PMDD that can't or don't want to get on birth control and don't want to get on antidepressants. I am not doing this as a doctor but someone that has experienced it and found a solution that works for me. It may not work for everyone else. That being said I'll keep it short as possible. I had severe postpartum depression after I quit breastfeeding my daughter. Very severe. I let it go too long because I didn't know what was going on. The doctor prescribed me lexapro and it worked a little at first but it took it a full 8 weeks to work better and even then it didn't get rid of all of the symptoms. It was a low dose but I didn't want a big dose because I knew I would be getting off of it soon and just wanted the help for a little while. I wish I would have started my supplements then instead of the lexapro because I now know hormone imbalance was my problem. My prescription ended at 5 months after starting it and that put my daughter at 1 year. I weaned off of it and it wasn't too bad but I started getting really weird symptoms. After I would ovulate I would go into a rage for 2 weeks with severe mood swings. I told my doctor about it and they wanted to put me on birth control which I can't take due to the type of migraines I get. So they wanted to put me on Prozac. I took one dose of Prozac and it made me feel super weird so I was determined to find out what the root of my problem was instead of taking Prozac. I also was having pain on the right side under my ribs and my throat kept having a swollen feeling. After tons of research I found it is very common to be hypo/hyper thyroid after a baby and that estrogen dominance is very common. The pain in my side was due to excess estrogen messing up my gall bladder function and the swollen feeling in my throats was due to the hypothyroid. I also had the other symptoms that goes along with these two issues i.e. Mood swings, anxiety attacks, hot and cold flashes, sleepiness, irritability and so on. I did research and started taking these two supplements. https://www.amazon.com/Thyroid-Support-Supplement-Vegetarian-Ashwagandha/dp/B00M13NHFY/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495635876&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=thyroid+support&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/DIM-BioPerine-Metabolism-Menopause-Aromatase/dp/B006KL4TYG/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495635915&sr=1-4&keywords=Dim Thyroid support and DIM. I also took some other additional supplements to help with the estrogen metabolizing because I was miserable and desperate. https://www.amazon.com/Thorne-Research-Picolinate-Absorbable-Supplement/dp/B002TPK1F8/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495636038&sr=1-4&keywords=zinc+picolinate https://www.amazon.com/Thorne-Research-D-Glucarate-Detoxification-Capsules/dp/B0012MZZLE/ref=sr_1_sc_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1495637884&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=calcium+d+glucarte I can go into detail on what these do but I'm trying to keep this brief. Anyway they started working within a week. I started feeling better. I took 2 DIM a day for 2 months in addition to the normal doses of the other supplements. I gradually kept feeling better but I'm an impatient person and I had been feeling bad for so long I wanted it to feel totally normal again as soon as possible. After more research I found that Curcumin helps you feel better while the DIM and Thyroid support does it's job. It took me a long time to get to feeling this way so it would take a while for me to get out of it. I ordered one brand of curcumin that's no longer available but I've replaced it with this one https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495636427&sr=1-4&keywords=curcumin I started feeling like myself at Day 5 of taking this. It's amazing. I sometimes take up to 9 a day but it's on days I feel particularly terrible which always coincides with my hormone cycle (or slight hangover) but I always take at least 3 a day. No side effects or any issues with this. It's amazing. It keeps me sane while the dim and the thyroid support correct the issues I've had. I just wanted to write this to give people an option to try before antidepressants. You should know within a week of these supplements will help you or not. I'm not doctor. I'm not trying to get anyone to stop taking their meds. I am simply putting out there an option that worked for me and took a lot of trial and error to figure out. So my daily supplement regimen that initially worked for me. I have since lowered my doses after 2 months of this. 2 DIM by smokey mountain naturals one morning one night. I would recommend only taking 2 if your estrogen dominance is severe and only for 1 month. After that lower to 1 a day. Thyroid Support by 1 body 2 in morning 1 Calcium D Glucarate by Thorne research 3 turmeric curcumin with bioperine by Schwartz bioresearch sometimes more 1 double strength zinc picolinate by Thorne research in morning Fish oil in morning Relaxed mood gummies by vitafusion Neuromag magnesium l-threonate by life extension at night. 1 scoop. I now only take 1 DIM 2 Thyroid Support 2 Relaxed mood gummies 3 Curcumin and occasionally more throughout the day. Magnesium at night. It's a lot of supplements and some are a little expensive but I prefer this to Prozac. Please PM me if you have any questions. I've tried a lot of things in addition to these that I didn't list because I wanted to keep this as short as possible. Again this is just what worked for me and I am not a doctor. I was just desperate for anything to help me that wasn't an antidepressant.

Great for Post Menopause and Water Retention
Wish I would have gotten these about 10 years ago. Pre-menopause I put on a lot of weight which is not fat but water retention. Tried everything to get rid of it. Very bad sinus issues. Took one of these at breakfast. within 3 days I saw a difference. I took 2 pills a day (breakfast and evening meal) for about 3 days and I could feel the fluid going away as my clothes got looser. I was sleeping better too. However, you can end up releasing toxins when you lose fluid (or water retention) and that does cause a headache. Trick is to take lots of fiber and water to get it to pass through your system quickly. I had to take activated charcoal capsules (3-4) with lots of water to absorb the toxins to alleviate the headaches. I have been taking a single capsule for about 2 weeks now and I see a BIG difference. My brain fog is going away. Normally if storms were coming I would be sleeping and feeling crappy etc but we are in the midst of a 25 cm snow storm and high winds and I am fine. I highly recommend these. I tried other DIM but did not get the result I am getting. I will continue to order this brand. I wish I had taken them in early/mid 40's instead of after menopause. 5+ stars. Update I have been taking them now for about 3-4 weeks. I take one pill a day and then when headaches start (due to toxins being released in the body) I slack back to 1 for a few days. I sure do feel a difference and I have tried various things for menopause symptoms. I cannot stress how happy I am with these. Will not buy another product while these are on the market. Note: the headaches that many mention is likely due to toxins being released in the body causing overload for the body. I have had these same headaches with taking cleanses or other supplements for Candida. Update March 30, 2020. Slacked back to just 1 pill a day and I find that is not enough to relieve some symptoms. In the past 5 years due to while going through menopause I ended up with excessive hair on my arms (very noticeable) and legs and these pills are taking care of that problem as it is going away even the facial hair. My only complaint about these pills is that I didn't start them years ago. I now take two pills a day (the past week) and every 2nd or 3rd day I'm trying a 3rd pill which is decreasing the arm hair. I HGIHTLY RECOMMEND THIS BRAND. .

Game changer!
Game changer for perimenopause symptoms! I was soaking wet from sweating at night, cramping painfully before menstruation, painful menstruation, moody, cravings, brain fog, and an over-all emotional mess! I use this in combination with Vitex and honestly I not longer experience pms or perimenopause symptoms!! God send!
