Conn again produces a fast moving epic. Good strong characters and plot and flows easily. Great descriptions of a piece of ancient history. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, just about ready to start the next in the series

Great book and the start of a new series. Carrying on from his previous serious this book has had my attention like all Conn Iggulden books.

Overall a good story although slightly confused with the tale of Pausanius who gets killed off. Whilst setting up part of the story line it seemed out of contestants the main storyline in my opinion. However an enjoyable read with sufficient pull to make me want to read the next book.

I love this author but have been somewhat disappointed with the Athenian series. Not up to the usual high standard. Like a movie dragged out to fill a series.
