Kingfisher Outside Tap Cover Frost Protector 'Packaging may vary'

Great for the winter month, did the job as I was worried that the piping would freeze fits nicely easy to use and definitely protects from frost and temperature

It fits perfectly on the outside tap but the reason I've only gave it 4 stars is because it a little bit thin and easy to brake if your not careful

ALWAYS USEFUL TO HAVE IN

Bought one of these to cover the outside tap on a rendered wall, but sadly it is not a great fit. I have what I believe to be a fairy standard brass coloured outdoor tap, but when I fitted this over it, it was left probably a centimetre or so away from reaching the wall and could not be safely pulled in any tighter. I decided it was going to fit it anyway after making the effort to purchase it and as I pulled it in tight the tap burst the the polystyrene with a loud crack. I haven't removed it to inspect the damage and if the cover will survive a removal and a reapplication, I decided that damaged but fitted in place despite the fracture would be better just left there now until the spring comes rather than removing it to find that I might not be able to reattach. A pity ultimately as I have a second outdoor tap and would have considered a second purchase had this unit worked out well for me. Perhaps my tap is a not a standard model or perhaps this cover is not a one size fits all, or perhaps I should have removed the tap head before installation, in which case this would not really be the cover that I would ultimately be looking for. Apart from my obvious issue, it appeared to be good, so if you tap is a good fit then it will probably be fine for you.

Very poor quality, 1. The shell is exposed polystyrene. 2. The black "Cord" when inspected had two deep grooves in where the retaining clip had been left, these grooves did not self heal and if you pull to hard will cause the cord to break. 3. The expanded cuff that is attached to the bottom had become detached, I had to glue it back on. I do not suggest you purchase this item, its not worth the hassle of sending it back, waste of money and very poor quality.

Works well

I have replaced an old one bur alas it's too small for my tap which is just a standard one. I had to make a hole for it to fit, which rather spoils the idea of insulating an outdoor tap.

I feel compelled to defend this humble little tap cover after reading some of the reviews. Yes. It is polystyrene. No, it is not forged from vibranium. And yes, if you yank the cord like you’re starting a lawnmower, it may protest. But here’s the thing… it does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it does it well. It’s perfectly shaped for a standard outside tap, fits snugly against the wall, and keeps the frost out. That’s literally its entire job. You don’t need to tension the cord like you’re securing cargo on a ship — just pull it snug, let it touch the wall, and… job done. Tap protected. Winter defeated. Tea earned. People complaining it “breaks easily” seem to be confusing “gentle insulation cover” with “load-bearing structural component”. Treat it like what it is and it’ll happily do its thing all winter. Honestly, for the price, what’s not to like? Simple. Effective. Lightweight. A small polystyrene hero quietly saving taps everywhere. Five stars 🌟 Would buy again. Would not attempt to bench-press with it.

Voor een buitenkraan met een lange hendel is dit artikel niet geschikt. Heb je een korte hendel, is dit wel een handig product.

Ja, genau das habe ich gesucht und auch gefunden. Passt genau wie ich es mir gewünscht habe auch wenn der Frost der üblicherweise um diese Jahreszeit herscht nicht vorhanden ist. Habe aber dafür Vorsorge getroffen das der Außenwasserhahn nicht eingefriert. Alles Bestens und empfehle es weiter !
