I have tried many different kinds of Hearing Aid ( this is really a sound amplifier). This is the best so far for low cost ($25.19). Pros 1. It has feedback sound cancellation, this is very important. It will SQUEAL during your placing it in your ear. But once you pushed it in enough, the squeal will stop. 2. It does not have background noise like some that I have returned, so it is quiet when no sound is around. This is called sound threshold elimination. 3. The microphone is in your ear so the outer part of your ear that catches sound helps you collect extra sound waves to help you hear. Another type of hearing aid has two pieces joined by a tube, one part goes in you ear and the other part hangs over your ear with a pin hole microphone:- as a result you outer ear that catches the sound is useless. 4. Low Cost:- only $25.14 for one ear. 5. The cost is low, so if you lose one, buy another. 6. With two ears, you can tell the direction of the sound. Cons. 1. It is not like the $5,000 proper hearing aid that is adjusted to you hearing chart for each ear; so use lowest volume to avoid damaging you hearing. 2. The little cone piece ( pale white) that you have to put on yourself (to fit your ear size) is not that easy to put on. Make sure you chose the right size and put it on securely. Not using the right size will make it SQUEAL in your ear. 3. It is small, so adjusting volume is not that easy ( Clockwise for louder and Counter clockwise for softer). The Volume Control adjustment on your CIC Hearing Aid will rotate freely. So every time you take them in and out of your ears, they will move a little Here is a method of verifying your volume control setting on your hearing aid. After you have adjusted your Hearing aid to "YOUR" preferred setting, make a mark on the top of the volume control with a permanent marker as shown in the photo. Now you will know if you hearing aid has the proper adjustment before you insert them into your ears. I had great hopes for this device. It was my first attempt at a hearing aid/amplifier. It worked right out of the box! Until........it didn't. I tried it a half-dozen times, and it seemed to work! Then I decided to try it in the company of other people. It worked for about 5 minutes and just quit. I tried switching batteries (there was an extra included with the product). That did not work. I ordered new batteries, thinking that maybe the batteries were old. That did not work. I tried adjusting the volume of the device, and that did not work either. So, I am back to square one!

Product is comfortable. Lots of different ear pieces to chose from. These are amplified ear devices that work well. I do hear a lot of static. Turned down volume so it was much better. For the price, overall good product. —-Adding to original review. The battery life is very long with these amplifiers. I have had a problem though with my right one. Be careful when replacing your battery as the battery area will separate from the amplifier. With that being said, you can simply reattach the battery to the amplifier. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

My initial reaction after wearing numerous aids for decades. I purchased this as an amplifier to hear conversations when the BTE models need to be removed; like during a haircut. This aid works! And since I have only worn it for a day, I may add future comments. Points to consider: immediately replace the as delivered A10 bateries with new,fresh ones. The volume knob is setup for counter-clock adjustment (CCW) to increase the volume. Once setup for comfort, you may find sudden, loud noises such as a sneeze may be startlingly loud. Adjust volume down a bit. So, longer term use...tbd future comments may be coming!

Got this little guy to replace a $1150 "pro" item my dog ate. This J20 works GREAT. The sound is great and easy to set.... spot of glue it remembers. For less than one thirtieth my "pro" unit J20 still working fine. After realizing Big Big difference in my hearing or lack there of will keep replacing if it ever fails. The $1150 "pro" has been "tuned 3 times" and still not usable. While I was (custom ear mold fit) waiting for my "pro" replacement I also got the Tking which is little more complicated to adjust but with so many fail reviews got this too. BOTH work fine for me and could have saved thousands of dollars. Old too soon wise too late. UPDATE******** Today June 17th the little swing door that holds the battery broke. OKAY, I just purchased the replacement for 3 dollars more... go figure. Hey even at 2 per year a long ways from the $1180 for a so called professional device that never worked or could for my particular application. It would be awesome if these little battery doors were a replacement item. HINT, HINT ,,, oh well. Up DATE #2. Search Amazon for Hearing Amplifier Accessories, Battery Doors 3-Peice ...... Took a chance got 3 and VIOLA fit my J20 and my Tking. My only complaint with these little guys is the fragile battery doors. Now with replacements moved 2 stars to 5 would be more is spot available. Now I can be A HAPPY OLD MAN ,,, yes!
