Garage Door Seal Top and Sides 34 FT TPE Garage Door Weather Stripping

This is a good product. As others have said, be careful and take your time. I waited for a warmish day, 55°. The included screws are 1” #6 flat countersunk. They can squeeze through the hole you drilled and do not grip the material very well. I bought a pack of 3/4” #6 truss head screws (my local stores had none). They act like a small washer and hold without tearing. I set them every 6” and there are no visible waves anywhere. Very happy with the result and as evening came, temps dropped and wind rose. It looks good and works well.

I'm changing my mind! This is still a two star garage door sealer but it's absolutely a five star product for lower stress jobs. The quality of the silicone is very high (but that's what makes it a soft and slippery product). Compared to other silicone products which corroded in two years, these silicone strips show no sign of weather/UV damage. So if you need a seal to stop drafts for your doors, this is your product. You'll need to use tacks or screws to hold it in place. If it gaps then silicone caulks can finish the job for you. You need a caulk that can adhere to silicone. Everything else will just slide off. Every one of my glues failed to stick to this strip. If you need a seal to prevent your sink from dripping all over your counter, this strip looks ok and performs nicely (at least for my set up). So far the original sticky tape has held up to kitchen abuse. If you need some heavy duty protection for the outside of your windows... You get the idea. I just hope this company switches to making other products with this material. **************original review************ I have a small garage door so the length of the silicone strip is plenty to seal the sides and top. If you're working with silicone, it's good to remember the stuff is slippery as the dickens and a soft material. Adhesive on the silicone strip is pretty weak. It wasn't able to hold the strip in place on the sides of the door. Luckily I had some double sided carpet tape and this was enough to hold the side strips up while I installed the screws. But even double sided tape was insufficient for the top. I used screws to hold the strip up while working on it. One screw was grossly insufficient since the weight of the strip was enough to pull it through the screw entirely. It finally held when I installed 3 screws to hold up about half the length needed. The screws are really soft. After I installed the first screw, my screwdriver tip was covered in metal shavings. I spaced the screws roughly 5-6 inches apart to prevent the strip from gapping. They don't include nearly enough screws for this spacing. If you over overtighten the screw, it will punch through the strip. To prevent this they include plastic washers with a cap attached. This way if you overtighten it will punch through the plastic washer too. The cap is a good idea but unless the screw is set dead straight, it won't close. I tried hammering but to no avail. If you fail to install washers, it is possible through an unlucky accident to pull off the strip even with a good number of screws installed. Luckily this particular garage door doesn't open/close, so no worries there. The caps are a good idea because these screws are sure to rust. Pulling out my personal stock of metal washers and screws, it went much better. Over-tightening the screws didn't punch the whole shebang straight through the strip. I had problems installing the strip on the top of the garage door. First, the gap there is much wider, so the strip was just barely able to span the gap. This strip would be much better if the adhesive side were about 2/3 of an inch wider. I'd say someone clearly thought about the problem of dealing with silicone but came up with some less than half-baked solutions that won't work a hoot if these strips are stressed. If you insist on buying this thing, throw away the hardware, all of it. Get some decent weatherproof screws, and some wide metal washers which should solve the problem of the silicone tearing its way free under undue pressure.

The sticker they use on the back is great. It's as strong or stronger than the ones you find in door trim insulation. Since it's so strong and holds well, installation is very easy. Take time to properly line up the trim as you're applying it. If you don't you'll end up with some gaps like I did. Don't be afraid to push the product up against your door, that's what it's supposed to do. Make it overlap a bit so you can ensure no gaps. It comes with screws to give it an even stronger hold and I'll apply those later. The sticker is enough to hold it up. I have a single car garage. The included length was enough to do both sides and top. I have a leftover piece about the size of the top piece. The trim cuts easily with a utility knife but you can probably just use scissors.

Don't waste your money on this weatherproofing. The material is incredibly flimsy and too small to be effective. It collapses under even minimal pressure from the garage door, leaving gaps that defeat the purpose of a seal. Pro Tip: Go to a local hardware store and buy precut solid PVC stripping instead. It costs roughly the same per linear foot, but it’s rigid, durable, and actually creates a professional-grade seal. Skip the roll; buy the PVC.

Material feels good quality. Easy installation. Looks good on a garage door. Little minus - screws covers don't feel very secure when installed. Some felt down and needed to be reinstalled.

I got a new garage door. After I paid contractor and he left. I found out there is a huge gap at the top of the garage door. During the brutal winter, the cold air blowing in turning the garage into sub zero temperature. I bought this door seal to block the cold air. The material looks fine. I was able to put it on and cut it to the right size. It does the job as a filler to prevent cold wind from blowing in. The only issue is that the sticky side does not seem to stick well ( as shown in photo). I have to rely on the screws it came with to secure the seal.

Was easy to install. The tape was very sticky and worked well along with the included screws.

It does a great job sealing water out of my garage, but the screws aren't strong enough to go into Hardie Panel. They might be ok going into wood.

Does the job as intended. Comes in 34 ft strip with screws. Size is sufficient for most double garage doors, mine is 16x7, so 30 ft is needed. Tape is for temporary alignment to wood frame then it needs to be secured by screws and ideally by plastic rails
