yes it has hdmi connection port .... I have mine set up on two different t/v's as I have 2 of these set top box

Q: Do you need this box to view blu-ray discs on an hd ready tv? I was told that the tv could play blu-ray discs but could not receive hd from the tv.

If your TV is HD ready, merely connect your blue-ray player to an HDMI input on the set and use the corresponding AV channel. The STB is merely for decoding Freeview signals off-air which it does well and fills in all your missing Freeview channels.

Q: Not able to tune in any off air hd channels sd all ok

Mine does pick up the digital HD channels. But it does not tune into analogue PAL signals (beware of misinformation in some of the answers here - it only tunes into digital transmissions from your aerial or the RF feed, so it will not tune into Sky boxes’s Channel 68 transmissions)
