Flip Folding Shooting Stick

My flip-stick arrived on time, was well-packed. I'd been wanting one for some time, but until now no-one had been willing to ship to a locker. On unpacking it proved to be satisfactorily made and on testing was found to do the job well. Those familiar with modern tent-poles will instantly grasp the idea of this almost self-assembling stick. Just give it a shake and it's basically assembled. As for the seat, the button-press needed to 'align and flip' it does take a bit of getting used to. The button's 'hard press and flip' needed may not be practical for those with arthritic hands. In use I found both the seat width and stick-height were perfect for me. The stick is rigid, once assembled, and supports my weight. If kept dry and free of rust then its interior wire connectors should last for a good few years. In sustained use its comfort is fine for a 5-10 minute breather. I find it takes the weight off your legs and - after a minute or so - the lower back also relaxes and gets a rest. But I do wonder if a thin slip-over gel-padded cycle-saddle cover might not make the seat even more comfy.On busy or narrow paths one would have to be careful not position oneself in such a way that the protruding 'leg' of the stick will be tripped over or clipped by a cyclist etc. I guess one might also find that dogs might feel the need to 'scent' it, which could be unpleasant. But on most known routes the user will develop a feel for which spots and angles are most suitable for sitting, and when to quickly get up on the approach of an uncouth-looking dog.As for also being a general walking-stick, the height of the stick makes it no good for me when walking along. If can however be carried, as a downward pointing walking-stick, if one grasps the pivot-section under the seat and hooks one's fingers into the slots there. This is certainly not as ideal as simply holding it via the proper handle-slot at the top of the seat, but at least it then looks and moves like a old man's walking stick. If you instead grasp the centre of the stick and carry it horizontal... then it looks like an axe(!) and nervous passers-by and security guards may well freak out.Overall, this is useful for urban and path walks where there's a reasonably hard surface or firm gravel to rest on, and is also likely to be useful for museum visits. In fact I can't imagine ever attempting something big and almost seat-less like the British Museum, without having this in a bag. You'd save the price of it many times over, by not being forced into their stuffy and over-priced tea-rooms just to have a sit down.

My wife is suffering really badly with sciatica so I searched around for some form of shooting stick that might be acceptable to her, so she might actually use it. When I first gave it to her she told me to save the packaging as it would certainly go back. She thought it would be difficult to balance so would help at all. Long story short she finally tried it. And now takes it everywhere she goes as even just 2 or 3 minutes sat on it gives her relief enabling her to carry on. The carry bag is so useful and makes it so easy to take the seat with you wherever you go. THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SEAT !!

You have to be over 1.68m / 5'6" to be able to sit on this. The height of the stick cannot be adjusted.

This stick replaces a lost one of similar design. Very useful for dog walking or other outdoor activities when one wants to sit for a while and alternative seats are wet or unavailable . Useful too to steady oneself when taking pictures. A little long for comfort when using as a walking stick, for my height ( 1.7 m), I plan to cut a shade off the lower end of the metal pole and put back the ferrule. Seat comfortable for short periods.

I have had a back problem for 23 years and often need to sit for a while when walking or standing for lengthy periods.. This is inconvenient if there ia no seating available. This product provides an ideal solution. I have tried traditional shooting sticks, but the spike on the end is not good on paving and I find the seat more comfortable on this one.

Does not take full weight but helps a good deal. folds up so will go in a case to take aboard. but on the way home from Istanbul I found it most useful while waiting in queues at air ports. The Turks, who are very nice people, Asked several times when they saw the stick if they could get me a wheelchair.Wish I had excepted their offer as we would have not had to wait so long in queues. Does not have a spike for soft ground but it does say that and I didn't need one. I did feel very safe by the fact that the stick did not feel as if it would slip from under you but to balance it helps hold on to something. Only criticism; in the information before buying I don't remember it saying that you should not sit on it with the stick in a completely upright position, which it does say in the instructions when you get it.

Absolutely delighted with this product. Ease of use, flips up in seconds, folds away just as quickly ,and solid support. ( I'm just under 14 stones or 89 kg)I'm 6 foot tall and it's fine for me.Pops back into a small bag so very convenient.VG purchase
