Great concept, poorly made
The concept of this product is good but the quality of this particular product is poor and not accurate I’m sorry to say. When the device counts down from 10 to 0 it skips over 9,8,and 7. It’ll go 10-6-5-4-3-2-1 test. Also one reading you’ll have 5.6 next reading you’ll have 0.8. Not even close to accurate. Not trying to bash but get a better quality item.

Easy to Use, but...
I found this keto breath analyzer to be easy to use, but the product listing and instructions have several inaccuracies. Notably: - The product listing says the device requires 2 AAA batteries but it requires 3. - The instruction manual says the warm-up period is 20 seconds but it is 60. - The product listing says you'll blow for 5 seconds but the device countdown timer appears to want 10 seconds. It's not clear if blowing for only 5 is good enough. The manual is in English but translated poorly. With respect to how the device works, I don't have anything to calibrate it against but its readings seemed to align with when I last ate and how hungry I am feeling (that is to say hungrier resulted in higher readings indicating a greater reliance on stored calories for energy). An interesting device and it does motivate you to try to stay in ketosis longer because I found myself wanting to see how high I could drive the readings. That interest probably won't last long, but if you are dieting I can see how this can become a game which might add to your motivation.

Looked Promising - Didn't Work for Me
Having recently put on a couple of extra pounds, I decided that this Ketone Breathalyzer/Meter might be in order to assist my dieting. This is advertised as Medical Grade and comes with 10 mouthpieces, a nice protective case with lanyard and the instructions. Its use is much like an alcohol breathalyzer and requires only a short warm up period and a 5-6 seconds of blowing into the device via the mouthpiece. It then returns a Blood Keto (mmol/L) color coded value on the LCD display. It is a reasonably small device which allows it to be portable and is very easy to read. I don't have anything to gage it against, (unlike an alcohol breathalyzer where I would expect a zero reading when no alcohol has been consumed). It runs on 3 AAA batteries, (none included). Despite placing 3 fresh Duracell Optimum batteries in it, it powered on with no issue went through its paces and produced nothing but a 0.0 each of over 10 times. My wife tried it as well and neither of the readings came back with anything other than 0.0. I am not sure if the device is defective but I would have expected anything other than a consistent 0.0. I cannot recommend it as I do not feel it is reporting anything.

piece of junk
We did several tests within a short period of time and got vastly different readings. There was no way to know which was right, so it was completely useless to us.

Hard to gauge accuracy
I've been working out for a while, and meals are always a guess when trying to max out energy and avoid adipose storage; I haven't tried any ketone measuring devices before, but this breathalyzer style seemed the least invasive way to find acetone levels... Having its own case is definitely a bonus, though the tip storage door on the device itself makes less sense because of it (I guess they just wanted to make it feel less empty). They include a pretty good number of tips as well, but it takes a bit a digging to find where you can get replacements. Like another person here, I got pretty inconsistent results after following the somewhat confusing (and inaccurate) instructions and running it without breath 3 full cycles, and then trying subsequent times along with 2 other people in my house, all of whom got the same number after the first test, despite eating and drinking at varying lengths, and even testing again right after eating (though it's not recommended). My only guess is that the meter itself takes a lot longer to hit baseline after a reading, so if this is as accurate as advertised, then it's only the case after a long hiatus from using it. I'll also point out that the screen and housing are seemingly recycled for other models of breathalyzer for things like BAC, which is visible in the screen itself, though the sensor isn't calibrated for it. As for the cost, there's a lot of competition at the $50 mark, and this one passes that number by a bit... It might be worth it, considering everything above, but in my opinion only if this gets a decent price cut.

Works great!!!
I have been obsessed with this keto breathalyzer for the last three days and took over 20 readings to test it in different situations. I was really curious how it works, it is my first experience. I am not on the keto diet but I am doing intermittent fasting and I was very interested in what happens at different stages, I’m happy to report that the keto readings are consistent with my activities, the levels are going up and down, just as expected while fasting or eating carbs or proteins. Also, I repeatedly remeasured after 5- 10 minutes to check if the reading will be similar and it was and it is tells me that the breathalyzer is pretty accurate. I am just wiping the mouthpiece and reusing it. The original installation is extremely simple, just push a button, it will warm up for one minute and then give you 5 seconds countdown to breeze and that’s it. Very effective and simple keto breathalyzer, I highly recommend!

This product works as expected. When using it pay attention to following points: 1. There is a difference between quantity of acetone in breath in comparison to the BHB ketones in blood. So it can be the case that you are in ketosis, but breath analyzer cannot measure this accurately. 2. Don't measure ketones right after eating or drinking, as the manual says wait for at least 10-15 minutes since it affects the accuracy of the measurement.
