High quality.
Good sprayer with a good spray pattern that is adjustable. Tip is easy to clean when needed. Stainless and brass metal parts for compatibility with most chemicals.

Durable and lightweight!!
It isnโt anywhere near as heavy as you would think. Extremely durable. Works very well. Easy adjustments of sprayer. Cleans well. And made in USA. Trust me, itโs worth the extra money. Consistent use for more than 6 months with NO issues.

Beware Chapin sprayer!
Like many people these days, I no longer use Roundup and other such chemicals for weed abatement in my yard. I've turned to a vinegar + saline solution, which is non-toxic for bugs and animals. After using a few plastic pump sprayers, I wanted to buy a more heavy-duty sprayer. After much research, I turned to the Chapin 1254. I used it once, and that did it in. The seal on the bottom of the plunger buckled (see photo). I had chosen Chapin precisely because on the Amazon web site it was advertised as an "all-purpose" sprayer featuring "chemical-resistant seals and gaskets for stronger weed and pest control chemicals." Elsewhere it says: "COMPATIBLE SEALS & GASKETS: use stronger fertilizers, weed killers, and pesticides." After the unit stopped working, I contacted Chapin, and they said that the manufacturer's users manual said: "Never spray flammable, caustic, acidic, bleach or other corrosive solutions or heat, pressure, or gas producing chemical." I responded that that warning should have been given to me BEFORE I purchased the unit, not afterwards and only in fine print. I asked for my money back. Nikki Ferrin, the Product Support Representative, refused to do so (not much Product Support there). She gave me the part number for the seal, though she said that vinegar would only buckle it again. I called the parts department, and they wanted $50 for the seal! No way. Anyway, buyers beware! Chapin has a CYA exclusion that you learn about (if at all) only upon delivery, and only if you decide the fine print clearly contradicts the product description on the website. The website, I'd say, is fraudulent, because it promises, several times, that "stronger" chemicals won't hurt the unit, and that "all-purposes" will be accommodated. Not a word about limitations. I paid good money for the damn thing. Based on my experience, I'd say the company is disreputable, as well as rude. And it's "heavy-duty" sprayer sucks. Spend your money elsewhere, I say!

Mostly good but a lot heavier than plastic
Wanted a durable, strong tank sprayer that could last in hot, humid environment. Tank, sprayer, plunger & hose seem heavy duty ...and it is heavy. Doesn't seem like a big deal until you carry it around the property for a while. Also, because it is metal -and heavy- it can scrape/ damage surfaces like slate, tile, and wood. The strap is thin and could be made of stronger material, but so far it is holding up. Time will tell if this was a worthy investment, but I would buy the best quality plastic one if I were to choose again. If your plan is to put it through heavy daily or job site use/ abuse, this steel one might be a good choice ...if you don't mind the weight. Plastic is a lot cheaper and these things wear out, so you could go the cheaper route and just buy a new one when lifetime is up. The brass sprayer fittings and tips /hoses are WAY better on this sprayer vs plastic type, if you want the quality.

All stainless steel fittings and worth EVERY penny.
All SATINLESS steel fittings. We use this to rust proof parts and "Cosmoline" will eat plastic. The last unit we bought was a quarter the price. Only problem is it only last two weeks before the fittings disintegrated.

Light wt. & easy to use
Great design, holds pressure & easy to pump & lock. Light wt & does thew job, plastic tanks don't do.

Looks great out of the box
Out of the box this thing looks like it will last a lifetime. Until you put some liquid in it the first time. Immediately the hose clamps will leak so you have to replace those right off the bat. The pump shaft's metal rod will start rusting soon after first use, that need ongoing attention. Using any kind of weed killer from the hardware store you will have a clogged sprayer tip within 5 days. Requires constant disassembly and cleaning. Make sure you wear rubber gloves with this sprayer because the handle will leak and the constant messing about with the adjustable spray tip will require proper protective gloves. Overall the metal tank is the only solid part with this sprayer. For the price it is disappointing that the accessory parts will fail rather quickly and require replacement.
