A niche item but great for listening to audiobooks bought for almost nothing in charity shops! Sound quality ok in a 1980s tech way. Robust and well put together. Retro stylish and every bit as good as a Walkman without the ramped up price. Recommended for what it is. Funky, retro blast from the past! Just don’t expect hifi quality sound.

Cassette recorder stopp ed working 3rd week in july. chewed up tapes and ruined set I am 97 yrs old and living in a care home. my husband is Victor M and has dementia It 's not possble for me to go to shops so I rely heavily on Amazon which is normally excellant. This time I spoke to Ali in customer service who was very sweet but discoonected after 10 minutes and could of rung me back but didnt What should I do with this uselee cassette recorder which I really need to play books on tape. I hesitate to buy the same one again because of my bad exprerience

Bought this cassette recorder for my mother to help her go to sleep with classical music.It is fairly quiet when on.Sound good but for its size not as loud as a Sony.But still well worth the money.

I'm going to get my most important point out of the way first. If you are looking for a cassette recorder to use for recording digital media to tape, i.e. cable from mic port to a laptop/phone/computer etc's audio output port, it will absolutely do the job. Lots of reviews have discussed the subpar recording capabilities and, sure, out of the box without a mic plugged in it is obviously not going to be great but if you're looking to turn digital to tape via audio cable, it'll do the job just fine. Now the rest. Design wise, it's grand. Sleek, understated, good tactile buttons. Actually I will make special mention that the buttons on this thing are heavy and tactile and oddly satisfying to operate, especially in a world of touchscreens. Speakers wise, it's fine? You're listening to a cassette tape so I'm going to go out on a limb here and presume you're not looking for the highest fidelity studio playback. If you've ever had the experience of listening to an FM radio in a garden shed or building site pre-DAB then you can pretty accurately predict how the speaker in this sounds. Function wise, yeah I mean, it will both play and record a cassette tape. I've got very little to say on it, it's like asking if a bucket is functional. I don't know man, does it have a hole in it? if not, yeah sure I guess. For context here's my usage case. For some prop work, I needed a cassette tape with some royalty free music on it. So, I grab this, I plug a cable into the mic port of the recorder and the headphone port of a laptop. Hit play and record at the same time, hit play on the media file and wait (in my case) 45 minutes and, lo and behold, I have the cassette tape. For this usage, it is perfect in much the same way that a glass of water is when experiencing thirst. It's not going to thrill you to your very core but it'll do the job perfectly adequately. One last word of note, presuming you have a use case similar to mine, lower the volume of whatever you are putting onto tape. Volume translates differently and can easily distort and warp, it isn't an issue with the recorder, it's an issue with the medium generally speaking.

This arrived promptly and in good time. The item looks very good. However I cannot comment further as I have yet to use it.

This is bought as a present for a young person. It came well packaged & on time. It did not come with batteries inserted ( which it said it did)…..but that is not an issue as it takes 2 normal Duracell AA. Have yet to discover what the receiver thinks of the gift!!

I used this for the first time today to help draw up notes after a meeting. All I can hear is a LOT of static and VERY faint voices even though the device was place right next to the speakers. Waste of money and heading for the bin! I would have given this zero stars if I could! My advice; look for something else that actually works.

Registra benissimo MONO dal jack mic che invece accetta aux. Ed è questo che cercavo. Mi raccomando registrare con le pile e non con alimentazione DC perché in questo ultimo caso registra peggio
