Orei XD 1090 does the job converting PAL signal to NTSC.
We recently moved from the USA to Nepal. We had a relatively new 48" 4k Samsung TV and had to decide what to so with it. Tried to sell it but the offers were outside of my minimum expectation. Problem was that the USA has an NTSC video signal while Nepal has PAL. I loked at options to get around this compatibility problem and ended up buyingthe Orei XD 1090. My shipment has now arrived so I was able to put it to the test. And it works great. The Orei XD 1090 only support up to 1080 signals, what is full HD. It does not support 4K. But Nepal TV is not on 4K anyway so that is no issue. The picture is very clear, I can not really see a difference with full HD TV broadcasts in the USA. Important to remember though that you most likely will also need a power converter from 220V to 110V. Bought that also via Amazon and also works great so far.

Didn’t work with older Plasma TV
I hooked converter to a cable set top box from Europe and to my Panasonic plasma TV, and it doesn’t work good. It converts the signal from PAL to NTSC, but I had strange interference on audio and vidoe signals. Video signal had intermittent loses that were few times exchanged by lines on screen. Audio on other hand was sounding like is little behind. I messed with the settings on the TV also, but didn’t manage to get it working correctly. It may be the type of TV, it is not the newest one Smart TV, but few years old Plasma. Don’t know. Will try different brand.

good but too bright!
I bought the device from the Bombay Electronics and was pleased with their service. In fact, they were the only online store to honestly answer my questions about current models of the multisystem TVs (I have several). It is their answer that led me to buy an NTSC HDTV and this converter. The devise works well for about a month and I recommend it. The reason for not giving 5 stars is the the idiotic LED indicators (two of them!) which I had to tape over to prevent bedroom illumination. Unfortunately there is nothing one can do; this is a trend in electronic industry - it appers that desiners of such devices never use them themselves. So, it you decide to buy the device make sure you have a piece of duct tape and don't waorry about anything else.

Saved the World cup for me ! works well with 720P, not always with 1080P input source
I brought my US, NTSC TV with me to the middle east.I was really disappointed when I tried to watch the world cup 2014, the single was not compatible and nothing was coming out of the TV.this device saved the world cup for me !it's really easy to use just plug and play. The Image was crystal clear, I didn't really notice missing frames or edges.4 stars because SOMETIMES when you have 1080P input source with fast moving frames , it starts to lagI had no problem with 720P input .NOTE: I didn't try this with anything other than BeIN sports HD receiver, because I didn't come a cross this problem (NTSC/PAL) in an HDTV before !

No good for my TV problem
I bought a couple of TV’s from a alibaba seller and he delivered the wrong system. I ordered NTSC an received PAL. They could not help me and return was not possible. So I bought this but no good. Did not get any solution of the prompt helpdesk. So I decided to buy a cheap digital TV converter box ATSC TV Box with HDMI connection. (See picture of the box that works) Can watch all NTSC channels now on all PAL tv’s

It works really good with VHS Players and other difficult to convert signals
This adapter has the processing unit to be able to convert an unstable signal from VHS to hdmi which is great, and no matter if input is pal or NTSC, so in that way it is an awesome device as I can use a monitor to output VCR cassettesWhat does not work for some reason is the scanlines converters which are great for example to use a Nintendo 64 so this device and the hdmi scanline generators are incompatible.

Worked great for Sony Bravia XBR4 in Bulgaria
I brought a 46 inch Sony Bravia XBR4 LCD TV to Bulgaria from the US. When I ordered cable TV I discovered that the cable box outputs 1080p@50Hz and the TV is expecting 60Hz. So after some research I found this device. There is also a cheaper model, but I decided to go with this one after reading that the cheaper model has issues with fast moving scenes at 1080p. I got this device to work as soon as I plugged it in and went through a few modes, until I hit [email protected] only complaint I have is that it came with a North American power plug, so I had to use an adapter (this is why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5).

Plug & Play
My doubts were allayed about this converter within 10 seconds of plugging it into my 50 inch HD television. It converts the PAL signal here in Europe to a NTSC signal on my US-purchased TV. The picture quality is very good (I cannot measure whether it is full HD) and I saved the cost of buying a new European PAL TV so I am VERY pleased with the converter. All that is required is to plug in the provided 120-240 volts power adapter and connect the converter via a HDMI cable to the TV and a second HDMI cable to your service provider's cable box. That takes a few seconds and the converter requires no other action on the user's part. I give the Orei XD-1090 an "A" grade!

Does what it says
I bought this to connect my Dell 2407WFP 24" flat screen monitor to a Sky+ HD box. As there is only one HDMI output on a Sky box I used a Cablesson® 2 Way HDMI SPLITTER BOX to split the HDMI output and the Orei XD to convert the 50mz output to 60mz required by the monitor. I used a had to use a separate audio output from the Sky box as the connection on the monitor is DVI and therefore doesn't carry audio. The Orei XD is a clever bit of kit, the picture displayed on the Dell monitor is excellent. The item is a little pricey but it does the job.

Meets the desired requirements.
It works perfectly. The pictures are very good and the audio quality is even better.I gave it a 4 because I think a coaxial input would make it much better.
