Hello, can the vt12 be used for proving a circuit dead ? if not why not ? thanks

The VT12 can be used for proving dead, as long as it's being used with the correct proving unit that tests the entire range. The Martindale PD690S is the recommended companion unit. A dedicated voltage indicator for proving dead (such as the Martindale VI-13800) will offer a higher level of safety & confidence as they're designed with minimal failure points.

Can this do single lead voltage detection?

Hello and thank you for the interest. Yes, the VT12 (as well as the VT25 and VT28) does single-pole voltage detection. This feature is designed to detect the presence of a voltage but it's not meant for proving a circuit dead.

can I use this to check if my Earthing bed-sheet is actually receiving electrons from my connection!?
