Reading Monocle: Black Frame, 37 mm Diameter, 1.0 Diopter Lens

I have bought many of these for reading. Monocles are really great when you have trouble that does not warrant a full time pair of glasses. In my case, I see great but some very small fonts types are not as clear as others, so I keep this around my neck for when I need it. I always get lots of compliments and questions. A great conversation starter for sure. Thanks for always getting me a new pair fast. They come in a very very well packaged metal can :)

My husband always forgets to bring his readers with us when we're out and about. One day, he mentioned that he's always wanted a monacle, so I bought this one for his birthday. He LOVES it! He keeps it in his hat so he has it with him when he needs it. He says that it's comfortable to wear and easy to keep clean. This isn't a costume piece. It's the real deal and will have everyone taking notice of you. If you buy it, prepare to get approached by strangers and friends alike.

Too pricey for what you get. Just because they're practically the ones selling graded monocles. Others are selling stage stuff.

My husband was so thrilled to get this as a gift! I only wish that there was an option to get it as a set with some sort of pouch and chain. Otherwise, perfect purchase! :)

Having worn reading glasses for over 20 years I can say this monocle works better than two lenses. My right eye is almost 20/20 while the left is far-sighted. Using regular reading glasses blurs my right eye. With the monocle in the left my good right eye isn't blurred and I'm able to see better than two lenses of the same power at about a foot and a half distance give or take several inches. I would think it allows my eyes and brain to process visual information more efficiently. It's got to be very stressful to the mind to make sense of a bad eye that is made good while the good eye is made bad. The clips keep the monocle in place and the neck cord is a nice touch. Someone suggested I take the lense out of the right side of regular reading glasses but I think that looks crummy. The monocle has a real classy look (at least for an older guy). Dare to be square, fellas.

The only reason why I didn't give this four stars is because the size is wrong, it's too big for my eye socket.Who knew there were different sizes? I would recommend the manufacturer give some indication on how one should check their eye to determine which size monocle they would need.Fine product otherwise, just doesn't fit well.

no cheap imitation! finest quality! not an expensive plastic lense! it appears to actually be ground optical glass! in addition to those features, it has a custom frame (which could be slightly adjusted by careful bending to fit your eye socket; however, it fits me perfectly as is); so, pay a little more & get the absolute best! just make sure that you know the correct magnification to order, because it really works & isn’t just a costume prop

I have had this monocle for a few months now, and find it very sturdy, durable, and scratch resistant. Even under my shirt it doesn't get scuffed which I was afraid it would. Fits comfortably and stays put with minimal effort.
