A Compact Work Horse
From the moment I unboxed this camera, I fell in love with its color, compact size, and lightweight design. Having owned several cameras in the past, I can confidently say that the R50 delivers professional-grade, high-quality photos that punch way above its weight class. Connectivity & Ecosystem The wireless integration is flawless. It connects effortlessly to my Samsung S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPad, allowing me to view, edit, and share my media instantly. Additionally, using these devices as a remote control for capturing photos and videos is incredibly smooth and convenient. Ergonomics & Handling If I had one initial concern, it was the camera's small footprint. Over time, I worried about the grip, as it felt a bit too small in my hands. To fix this, I paired it with a dedicated camera cage and grip extension. This simple upgrade added the perfect amount of traction, weight, and protection, making the ergonomics feel incredibly secure. Value & Versatility When it comes to price, the Canon R50 is significantly more affordable than its direct competitors. Plus, the market is flooded with fantastic, readily available accessories both official Canon gear and budget-friendly third-party options. Final Verdict: I recommend this camera with my eyes closed. Whether you are looking for a casual hobby camera or a reliable tool for professional work, it excels at both. I use it for both personal and professional projects at home, and it never disappoints. Key Highlights Portability: Incredibly lightweight and travel-friendly. Pro Quality: Stunning image output that rivals more expensive bodies. Smart Workflow: Seamless remote control and file transfers across iOS and Android ecosystems. Customizable: Easy to rig up with a cage for a more substantial, professional grip.

Great camera.
My wife loved this camera i got her and im about to start using it for my woodworking videos. The camera is light and easy to carry around via lanyard or in your hand. The picture quality is great. Camera is pretty responsive and no issue with use. The canon app allows you to remotely download pictures and videos off the camera along with controlling the camera like remote capture so you dont need ask someone to take the group photo or be left out of the picture. The physical remote works better since it has a more direct connection to the camera. I highly recommend this camera and at the very least canon products pending your budget since i think this was a mid tier camera or entry but im not a photographer and know their entire line up. Ill update review later with photos of camera and photos taken from it and a video of it.

Perfect size for travel and just about anything
Great little camera. I considered the R8 but this one is half the price and maybe less complicated for non-professionals to use. Works great with my EF lenses and Canon branded adapter.

Hate it
Too small for people with hands larger than a child. You hit buttons that can mess up a photo that you are trying to take and have perfect. I am in the outdoor sports media, and I'm trying to sell the camera, or just use it for some close ups of fishing tackle or shooting items where I can have a retake of something.

A perfect camera to start vlogging and beyond
I bought the Canon EOS R50 as my first mirrorless camera for vlogging and I couldn’t be more satisfied. The image quality is excellent thanks to its 24.2 megapixels, and the 4K video is sharp and smooth—perfect for creating high-quality content without complications. The autofocus is very fast and accurate, even while moving, and the subject detection and tracking feature has been amazing when filming on the go or with more people in the frame. The included lens (RF-S 18-45mm) is very versatile for everyday use and ideal to get started without needing to invest in another lens right away. Plus, it’s a lightweight and compact camera, making it super easy to carry anywhere. The smartphone connection is very useful for quickly transferring photos and videos, and also for remotely controlling the camera. In short, if you’re looking for an easy-to-use, powerful camera designed for content creators, this is a great choice. Highly recommended.

I've been using the Canon EOS 50 for a while now, and I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. This camera is the perfect balance between user-friendly and professional-quality results. The image quality is fantastic, with sharp details and vibrant colors that really pop. I love how the camera handles low-light situations, producing clear and crisp images even in dim environments. The autofocus is fast and accurate, making it easy to capture the perfect shot, whether I’m shooting portraits or landscapes. Another highlight is its lightweight and ergonomic design, making it comfortable for long shooting sessions.
