Beng LB4707 Floor Standing Speakers (960 Watts, Bass Reflex & 4 Way Techonogly) - Walnut Wood Finish

Just to begin I usually never write reviews on amazon but I after I bought these speakers I thought I would leave some feedback seeing as there are barely reviews on here. Like many others this was my first time buying a pair of beng speakers and feeling slightly skeptical decided to buy them anyway.Due to their too-good-to-be-true-price for a pair of floor speakers, I honestly didn't know what to expect in terms of performance. After hooking up my Renkforce amplifier (an additional 45 pounds if your buying from scratch and looking for a reasonable for the price)to these slick badboys I wasn't too impressed at first, but after wearing them in a bit they started to sound really nice. Seeing as these speakers have an integrated sub woofer, it kind of takes away from the crispness of the bass when turned up full, especially if you are playing from low quality source i.e music that is under 320kb/s, but the overall clarity of the bass can be very good can if you just keep the bass knob on your amplifier at a sensible level. If you are listening to maybe a 1080p youtube tune or a flac type, then feel free the turn up the bass, currently listening to some nice liquid drum and bass with the bass whacked up and sounds divine. The mids sound nice and thick and seem to travel across the room very well. What really took me be back was the clarity of the highs, loaded with crispness and texture. These speakers really allow for really creative top-end production to be fully enjoyed. Perfect for trippy electronic music in my opinion, but really sounds good on anything.These are not at the top end by any means, but would you really expect top end speakers under a hundred pounds? The stereo buff will no doubt find faults with these speakers but even they cannot argue with the quality-price ratio. For the price they are a gem, they look slick in my living room and bring them along to my friends basement where we host after-parties for clubs and perform very well. You can buy speakers with a similar sound quality for 150-250 pounds depending on the brand, so do yourself a favour and buy these instead. Well worth the money, still takes me back how they are under 100 quid, my god what a buy

Good speakers for the price came in good condition and customer support good as first speakers had a defect.

First class sound at this price, from a previously unknown manufacturer. I wouldn't choose to use above a few watts, but that's all one needs! The delivery packaging was very poor, allowing severe damage to one speaker, and cosmetic damage to the other, upon first receipt. Replacement came through almost unscathed but not enough to merit the trials of a second replacement. Speaker cable connectors are poor quality.

Not happy with the sound quality

Current Sound Setup and experience: I listen to lots of edm music (deadmau5, future garage, deep dubstep) and currently have a pair of sennheiser 595s powered by an Audio 2 DJ sound card which gives excellent quality. However I wanted a better speaker set up for my lounge which was currently a second hand Sony Surround setup.I ordered the bengs on a whim one late Friday night attracted by the price and the other reviews! But the next day I tried looking up proper reviews of beng speakers but couldn't find any. On forums many people were recommending wharfdales for sub £100 speakers. So I panicked and ordered the wharfdale 10.0's and cancelled the bengsThe wharfdales arrived monday I plugged them in replacing my sony speakers. The sound was better but I wasn't overly impressed I wanted a fuller more spatial sound to wrap my ears.I was starting to wonder what the bengs would of sounded like... :(However too my delight on Tuesday the delivery man arrived with the Beng speakers which I thought I had cancelled. I wasn't sure whether to accept them but my gut said 'try them!'After plugging them in to my Native Instruments kontrol s2 then into the sony amp I listened to some future garage. I was impressed. The sound had a spatial quality with different sounds having an independant stage. Vocals cut through cleanly with bells, squeeks and clap sounds tickling the ear while being bathed gently by garage bass lines. Closed eyes and got whisked away content with my new purchase.I then tried a favourite Strobe by deadmau5. This 10 minute musical journey brought a smile to my face hearing all the strange sounds I can on my headphones but with a nice warmth and space to it.I then finished with with some m83 - Wait and some of daft punks new tunes. Very happy indeed I duely boxed up the wharfdales ready to be sent back sat back down and listened to more music :)You wont find reviews by audiophiles or magazines etc. Trust your ears give them a go you can always return them if your not happy. The only fault I have found is that the beng sign on the front isnt secure and will fall out but a bit of glue will fix this :)

for the price, superb. I am not an audiophile and suffer from 'gunners ear' so buying super speakers is a waste of time and money. Play them through a NAD A/V unit and can watch TV in HD with surround sound.Phil

I was a little dubious about purchasing these speakers. Even though the reviews were good the one bad review always sticks in your mind which is silly really. Anyway I thought that I would get them as a stop gap for when I could actually afford a expensive, get what you pay for set of speakers. Well I am more than pleasantly surprised. I will not be updating these ones for some time as they sound fantastic. They are very powerful and can cope with all base and volume without distorting. The outside of them may be slightly cheaply made but it doesn't really show and it is the sound that you are after. They look great in my living room. I would really recommend these and the price paid for the sound quality is amazing.
