This is a super great pounder
Absolutely amazing. You can use either end depending on the mouth of the jar. I used this for packing raw vegetables into jars for water bath canning. No more space! Great material. Cleans well.

It works as designed
Solid hardwood thats fit for the task. Should give a lifetime of use as well! Fits jar openings perfectly to. Works just as well as the higher priced pounders. Nothing fancy...but who cares.

Great Size
The pounder is what I expected, however it has a clearcoat type of finish on it. I am going to sand it off and treat the bare wood with a food grade oil.
