Fit more cars than I expected terrific

My 4 yr old son loves cars and this is great for organizing. He's also in a phase of collecting and organizing things by color so this works well for him to be able to put his toys in it. It's nice that it's double sided instead of being stacks so he can easily see what's inside to find what he wants. He is not able to open the latches himself which could be a good or bad thing depending on if you want to keep kids from opening and making a mess or if you want them to be independent and also teach them how to clean up after. We're doing the latter so him not being able to open it himself may cause frustrations and crying if he's not able to do it himself. The white part seems very sturdy and should hold well even when full. I will say that the lid has a bit of flex to it which should be ok unless pressed out of shape for a long time. The hinges work but seems could be pushed out of alignment if played with harshly. Overall, it's a good storage case and can be decorated with stickers for personalization. Likely better for older kids though.

42 of the compartments are all the same size, each measuring 1 1/8" wide, 3 3/4" long and 1 1/2" deep. On each side of the case is a single column that has 4 dividers allowing for longer vehicles. Removing all 4 dividers results in an 11 1/2" long column. It is unfortunate that there aren't enough divider positions to turn that column into an evenly sized 4 car column but I appreciate that it is possible to store some longer vehicles in the case if needed.In standing position, the case measures 12 3/4" tall, 13 5/8" wide and 3 1/8" deep. I find its construction quite impressive and IMO it should be able to take a beating even with it full of toy cars. The carrying handle may be its weakest point if it is stuffed full. Time will tell.Each of the compartments is actually quite oversized for a single Hot Wheels car and is large enough to fit the slightly larger cars from the Disney Cars series as well. IMO it is waste of space to store just one toy car in each compartment so I attached a photo of two cars placed on their sides in a single compartment. With this approach you can effectively store twice the number of cars into this case.The case covers are slightly frosted but it is still easy to tell the vehicles stored within.Overall this a well built case and can potentially fit 96 Hot Wheels cars or any other items that fit into the compartment space.

Nothing fancy about this organizer at all, but it does the job. I have a well-used collection of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars collected over 40 years--all of them so abused that they couldn't possibly be worth anything--and my kids are now starting to play with them. This case is not specifically designed for these scale model cars, and are designed for a variety of collectables in this approximate size range. So the good news is that the spaces are big enough for the cars and the trucks and the wider vehicles and the taller vehicles, some of which never fit properly in cases *designed by the company that makes the cars!* The bad news is that since the spaces are so big, when the case is closed and picked up by the handle, most of the cars are banging around in their spaces and do not stay wheels-down. They end up upside-down, on their side, etc. If these were true collectables this would be unacceptable, but if they were true collectables, I wouldn't be storing them in a generic clear plastic case. If all you need is to keep your toys off the floor, it does the job admirably.

This is definitely a step up from the hot wheels storage container we had previously.This container seems durable and sturdy. The hinges are secure and thick, as well as the snap locks.I like that the side panel compartments are adjustable for longer vehicles (although we still have not discovered a container that can hold monster, semi trucks or construction vehicles)The only issue we’ve run into, is that since it is double sided, our son wants cars from one side and then will decide he wants cars from the other side without snapping shut/locking the already opened side. So, all the cars just dump out. It isn’t unusual for all cars ect. to be all over the floor anyway, but you know.Overall, this Xuerdon storage container is accommodating, sturdy and an average price for this item on the market.
